What do people prefer. Party attire

So as swing party season is starting to kick off around Ireland, with more and more people starting to host parties in various locations, my question to you, the attendees, is do you prefer to go fancy dress, 60s 70s 80s style and everything else fancy dress or do you prefer to go in your own clothes. Most people end up ditching the fancy dress an hour or so into any party any way. Is it an unnecessary expense on top of hotel's and entrance fee and so on? Thinking of hosting a party ourselves soon so a bit of feedback would be good.

Kilkenny, but Dublin is more fun

The assless chaps have never treated me bad, apart from the time I sat down on a freezing cold bench and remained stuck til a bus driver arrived to help.

Attended a fancy dress meet and greet but I haven't been to a fancy dress swing party bar a Christmas one which was a lot of fun as the majority of the ladies wore little sexy Santa outfits.

I think it's a great idea. I think a 70's themed party would be great fun. Bow chicka wow wow!

The first time I met you Geordie was at a burlesque meet and greet years ago. The function room looked like a turkey abattoir floor by the end of the night. Feathers everywhere

Well from what I seen at parties they seem to only play after a good few drinks. I myself like to be sober and will always enjoy a bit of banter. Like had the ladies flogging me at the last party that I was at . They all loved it

They're called banana hammocks by the way, and there's no shame in padding. It's not all about fake advertisement either. In case something may happen where the vulnerables are mistakenly attacked, the padding cushions the impact.

It's fun and may not last long dressed up but I do love a excuse to dress up differently to how I usually would
