What would you do?

The question is what would you do if this happened to you...

I purchased 3 & 2 seater couches online from a well know major furniture retailer. The courier called on Monday, delivered and I signed for them.

The next day I arrived home from work to find another 2 seater couch in the box sitting at the front door. No call from courier, no signature etc. An extra couch that I have not ordered and not paid for.

What would you do if it was you?

Lee

I'd contact the company I bought it from and alert them to their error. Anything else wouldn't sit (no pun intended) well with me

It's the universe delivering you both a clean sofa AND a naughty sofa

Myself, I believe in good karma so would inform them

Check the original 2 seater sent for damage they may have sent the wrong one originally and sent it's replacement when they realised.

But ring them and enquire about the 2nd sofa

I'd ring them to return but certainly would chance my luck to get a voucher out of them for being such a nice customer.

It’s an easy one. It’s just a question if honesty and doing the right thing. If they forgot to send you one of your two you’d tell them. It’s obviously a mistake but could have consequences for the person who made the mistake. Karma works both ways

Somehow I knew you'd say that.

your imagination

Contact the store and tell them there's been a mistake. Somebody else nearby might be sitting on their floor wondering where their sofa is

I've been on to them via chat as the alternative is to call an international number. Its a fucking ordeal with data protection etc and they want me to get all the details off the box, part number, order number etc.

Oh well, we'll see what happens.

Why am I surprised so many said send it back, I was expecting the opposite.... What a lovely bunch of honest fabbers you all are

middle of nowhere

I'd email them . Tell them you've no room to take it inside. Tell them they have until (you decide) a certain time to collect it as you won't take responsibility for it. If they don't collect it donate it to a homeless centre.

Tell them that the storage fees are accumulating and they best hurry or soon the fees will be worth more than than the sofa
