Wouldn't agree to be exclusive if was only the "other guy" when they have two people you have one and can only see them when it suits them not you but everyone is different. Some might like that.

Mistress wouldn't work for me full time. Sometimes it is nice to see a woman express her dominant side but I mostly prefer the thought of being dominant with her.

I think most men and women with high libidos prefer variety with some themes, esp. on here.

I thought the OP meant meant mistress as in bit on the side , not mistress as in dominant . Either way some ones occasional pass time when it suits them and not her is not worth it and not something I’d consider

Don't think that works for me either.

Anybody who has been in an unrequited love situation knows it's not romantic - it's just slow torture.

OP, I think this works well as a fantasy, otherwise not, like many things that can turn us but... like my Katie Hopkins romantic fantasy where we unleash those German Shepards onto the streets together.

There was this woman, married, that I fell in love with.

I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy - I nearly went mad and had she reciprocated my affection I probably would have done something very stupid to myself or the husband. Eventually I came to my senses and left the university where we met.

Your mental health is worth more than that, don't set yourself up for a situation in which you'll be used for sex or emotional venting - you'll slowly become crazy, your thoughts toxic.

I think it's a recurring scenario in a few movies, which is probably what made me think it might be what you are getting into.

If you have no options of other fun, I wouldn't imagine it would be a preferred scenario.

I don't know if that's a question with an answer to it because I don't know how you'd gather such statistics on something this intimate with reliable accuracy. It's like "Can a man and a woman be good friends?" aka without thinking of fucking each other. Maybe as hypothetical, but probably not.

I do suspect the probability of your heart being broken is higher than it would otherwise be.

On the 'cons' part of your list, just add Lovecraftian Horror as one of the serious line items.
