This is a ridiculously ill informed comment. ED can affect guys at all ages - not just over a certain age - and the prescription of mycoxaflopin certainty isn’t a 100% guarantee of success.

There's still a stigma when it comes to Irish men and it causes huge stress. Anything that shows a weakness is hidden and unspoken of with most Irish men. We'd rather suffer in silence than admit everything isn't good. I know campaigns have tried to get men talking more about everything not just something like ED but I feel more needs to be done. If that guy went to the doctor there's more than likely a simple cure. Probably be told go exercise and change his diet and lifestyle and it will probably work.

PE can be cured with regular sex and experience alot of the time and usually its only the first round and when you're good again you last longer the second, third, fourth round etc... ED is strange though unless you've viagra ready for your meet it makes no sense.

It's alot more common than most think not nessiarly a lack of attraction it may pressure to perform on stress from other factors

I’ve met a lot of guys who couldn’t ‘get it up’ and invariably they were all very embarrassed. I think a lot of guys think there’s a huge expectation to perform like a stud because there’s so much porn around showing guys with massive cocks pounding away and they think this is the standard that girls expect.

This is very true. I remember going through a bit spout of depression. I just wanted my bed all the time and when I was in work or in town etc... I was getting the urge to start crying all the time, it was wierd. I said nothing to anyone besides making jokes about it to friends. They knew I was a bit depressed but not to that level. No one did. Joking about it got some of the pressure off my back and eventually depression left me but I was going for walks that lasted hours, hitting the gym, listening to music, googling depression etc... Some might not get away so easy. I felt I couldn't talk about it but now I feel better I feel I can. Strange.

Women, even the most petite contortionists, aren't capable of exerting as much pressure on a penis as a man's hand. A woman's own hand is nowhere close to having that grip strength - and even female athletes in sports requiring hand grip aren't as strong as untrained males.

It's not just ED, it's also not being completely hard, like you were when you were younger.

Yes, exercise and diet do make a difference but in the meantime, a cock ring can help. If that works for you, it's a case of more exercise, as it's a blood flow issue, most likely.

For other scenarios, speak to a professional. They know what you need. There are also some very medically well educated ladies on Fab who may respond to this thread in their excellent realistic ways.

I went through a bout of this due to side effects to medication I was on. A blue pill and you're good to go. Guys you'd be mad not to get this sorted. It's no longer something that needs to impact your life or cause embarrassment/frustration.

See your GP or if you're embarrassed there are online prescriptions available.

First round you'll still come as normal if you have PE but then there no down time after you come or very little, a minute tops and you're back having sex until you come again and again there's no down time or very little. Eventually with viagra you'll be fucking but won't be able to come (that's if you've the stamina) and you'll tire yourself out but the Penis will still be hard. I only ever took it once and it was fantastic but prefer to not use it since I'm not medical required to.

Sorry but in my opinion that has very little to do with ED. Stimulation starts in your brain and not in the grip of your hand and has eventually to do with the connection of your lower body, your brain and bodily functions. Also petite has nothing to do with tight. I'm certainly not an expert in this field but just applying a bit of logical thinking based on experience. Every man is different so is every woman. Not everyone needs a rough wank to cum.

Hi Linda. Your husband seriously needs to go back to the doctor as there may be underlying problems. Bear in mind that an erection depends on blood flow. So ED can often be a symptom of something else. It's the 21st century and this can (should) be able to be sorted. If no joy with GP then go and see a Urologist. Best of luck with it. This is very tough on both of you x

ED and PE has s lot to do with your state of mind. Speaking from experience just after I divorced I had ED. I thought my ex had put a spell on me and had a voodoo doll with pins directed at you know where. Having got professional advice from my GP and talking to other professional medical people it is quite common I believe as they say it’s a sort of bereavement people who separate after a long time together. After counseling and meds things started to change and sexual confidence came back but too quickly!! lol. The comment above of being sexually active helps!

I suffer from PE and ED, and although I always knew why, and eventually after 10 years, seeked counselling treatment, it still hasn't ceased.

One of my very first experiences involving intercourse with a woman, ended tramatically, and now it's constantly at the forefront of my mind.

"You're coming home with me". When I hear those words I'm initially excited, but quickly my thoughts turn to anxiety and dread. As soon as I enter a bedroom with a woman, the 1st thought, the overwhelming thought, is the experience I had with a woman when I was 17. Because I was then in my sexual infancy regarding penetration, it has last left a deep mental scar, resulting an inability to get or maintain an erection, or premature ejaculation, which in turn, depression, and my inability to maintain a relationship.

I initially joined fab because I have no confidence in being able to form and maintain a healthy monogamous sexual relationship, and hoped for "practice makes perfect". That casual encounters without emotional ties, would allow my brain and body to break the negative cycle regarding sexual activity (and the thought of cuckolding has excited me since I was a teenager

As many men on fab know though, it's not easy getting meets, even if, unlike me, your brains and balls, are functioning in perfect synchronicity

Fab to me, is the graduate applying for a job, but can't get it, cause they're looking for people with experience

(clutty sunt, this could be similar why PE/ED men join).

I have turned down meets, for fear of being unable to perform. I have thankfully, bit the bullet at times, both on this profile, and my previous incarnation on here, and luckily met a few women.

They were lovely, understanding, women, and although I had the pleasure of meeting one of them numerous times, I knew she'd understandably, tire of my inabilities (the glimmer of hope is, the fact the meets lasted as long as they did, at least means, I must have some sliver of a personality

) . By the way, a fortunate thing: due to me having oral performed on me a respectable amount of times, before my tramatic event, means I can still function, when a woman performs oral on me

(it's the intercourse that does me in; either I struggle to get or maintain an erection, so when I do, I'm never comfortable, therefore I have to perform at a fast pace and only last about a min...if I can maintain it?

One of the greatest things the woman I met the 1st time I was on here, was the possibility of other forms of sexual activity. It is this reason I rejoined. I hoped that by engaging in other acts, especially being a Dom in BSDM scenarios, and also voyeurism, I could enjoy in sexually activities, without the pressure to perform, and who knows, just maybe one day, I'll be able to have confidence in penetrative sex.... .

Having done some research on ED here are my personal views. When it strikes for what ever reason (in my case prostate cancer requiring prostate removal) it causes stress at not having normal function and reaction to sexual stimulation. There are at least 5 Different ways to approach this.

1. Erection pump: Increases blood flow into the Penis to give an erection. Erection fades as soon as pump removed.

2. Oral medication: Viagra, Cialis etc. Are good as long as they continue to work in time they may have little or no effect.

3. Muse: and small pellet insert inserted into the urethra, may or may not be effective.

4. Caverject: Penile injection, same chemical composition as Muse. It sounds awful but do not be put off, the injection is a non event when you experience an erection like you had when you were a teenager and had no one to share it with. This is usually done first time under the supervision of your urologist who will do a titration test to determine the dose you require, depending on the dose the effect can last from 30 mins to 2 or 3 hours. It takes about 10 minutes to work and is a great feeling if you have not been able to get a satisfactory erection for years before.

5. Surgery: Involving placing a small pump in the scrotum and two long inserts in the Penis which can be inflated manually.

Hope this helps, it took me a long time to find my cure, No 4, after the previous ones were no longer effective. I asked my Urologist how long the Caverject would be effective for and he said it would always continue to work, and to date it has.

OP, I can only speak from my own experiences. There have been occasions when I could not (let's say) "perform" and usually for myself it's been because there is a mental block. I know it hasn't been physical because if I'm able to masturbate then I know the part is definitely in working order. When it comes to the mental block it can usually be down to one of two things. Either I'm going through a stressful period and if my mind can't relax or focus then neither can the rest of me, or sometimes I will be that eager to impress the woman that I overthink it and (again) can't relax mentally. At times when it happens I feel bad as the woman can then think it's because I don't find her attractive or she has done something wrong when in fact it's quite the opposite.

For myself, good sex is definitely about mental connection as well as physical..... being in the right frame of mind.

I find on those rare instances that Viagra can be a big help but I always try not to reply or depend on it. Usually with some understanding with the right persons I get around the mental block and manage to come out of my shell.

At the end of the day (although some men might boast or big themselves up) we are not machines but when a woman gets me on a good day in a good frame of mind...... oh my.... Lol

Serious problem that most men dont discuss that can have real bad psychological implications. Firstly ED can mask Coronary heart diseses ofthn the first sign of it . Those who are taking some medications e.g Beta Blockers ,these meds can be a cause of E.D. Go speak to your heallth professional who deal with this daily there are some simple solutions out there .

No. Its not a myth. Thats why the sex with a partner is important for our health.

Overdosed masturbation is addictive. Too long without a partner and your body reaction may surprise you in negative way... It is not only happen to men over 40+.

I think my ed problem originated from when my ex went off sex, we did actually have sex sometimes but she showed no passion whatsoever, she would never even take hold of my cock and it has affected me. I have kidney failure, medical definition CKD, and when it was first diagnosed I had ED as a reaction to the medication I was prescribed

Coal is was prescribed on a very low dosage, 2.5mg, to be taken daily

Don’t think the daily dose is an option now.

It was good because it helped psychologically as well a physically, it’s not needed anymore due to different meds and changes to diet etc. but great to know I have a back up if needed

If it’s a physical cause then that needs to be treated

If psychological then sensate focus techniques are very useful where you progress from clothes kissing to unclothed kissing all the way eventually to penetration with no pressure

If not sure you can use a tablet just to ensure a higher choice of success with penetration . I had it 2 years ago and now have the opposite problems with very little blood going to the brain some days . I was stressed and over thinking

Penetrative sex isn't the be all & end all of a sexual encounter.

I think if men are honest & open about ED (and, if it bothers them, are actively seeking remedies) and they don't ruin sex for everyone by being hyperfocussed on their erection or lack of same, then it can be a moot point.

Obviously some people wouldn't be happy without penetrative sex - hence being honest about it in early convos to give people the chance to say not interested if it's a deal breaker for them.

A typical erection is only expected to mast a max of 30 minutes, So I feel like within swinging we're all going to encounter a guy struggling to keep it hard for as long as he'd like to.

It's no big deal, you work around it. Small doses of the pills you can get form pharmacies help, but don't expect anything super-human.
