I heard the phrase this morning on the radio and wonder what a proper bloke is? Coz I’m gay can I ever be a ‘proper bloke’?

"I heard the phrase this morning on the radio and wonder what a proper bloke is? Coz I’m gay can I ever be a ‘proper bloke’?"

No such thing it's all subjective and opinion based.

I get told I'm not a proper bloke for having long hair and wearing Kilts. Yet other people think that it is what a proper bloke should be. Let no one tell or dictate who is and isn't a proper bloke.

If somebody compulsively listens to television or radio or is constantly gazing at their smartphone it's a fair indication they are not somebody interesting.

Feeding your mind with a digest from whatever companies, the government or Facebook wants you to see/hear/read isn't going to make you a better human or improve your life because their interests are not your interests.

It's like feeding your body fast food, but for the mind.

All it does is make you complacent and smug that you're 'in the know', but it's only a simulation of real human interaction. Probably it makes you overconfident and probably it makes you gradually more stupid because it's not exercising the muscles in your mind because the medium is 100% passive.

Becoming a zombie like this is just like being an undiagnosed autistic.

Ever noticed how television from the old days was more intellectual? Ever notice how the new music being regularly played is getting worse? Ever notice how people on social networks are becoming more antisocial?

It's real! It's getting worse!

Leave the matrix! Talk to real people and read books. Explore.

It's presumably the colloquial version of "a real man", neither of them are terms I would use

Does such a man exist? I complain to myself while doing housework

I'd agree.

I'm fed up with all this 'politically correct' thing.

I absolutely love real women.

A proper bloke to me is a man who doesn’t shirk his responsibilities. A real man stands for his kids no matter what is going on between him and the mother.

And a real woman is also a woman who doesn’t use her kids to score points or hurt the father.

If they don’t have kids it’s how they conduct themselves around others. Not being a fucknugget

Is this like the saying "a man's man"

I've always thought that was suggesting they were gay

On the other hand, how do you define a proper woman? I suppose everybody's opinion will vary but there may be some common denominators.
