You're right boldy, jocks guilty of snoozing, being woken up by two tries.

I'm not sure Ireland will beat France as many are thinking. I this their inexperience as a young team may show against the French.

This a tough fixture make no mistake, greasy conditions , makes for less flowery rugby from Ireland . but it won't stop the French in that department.

I support Ireland in all sport, and will watch most sport, but i find rugby is one game I can't get into.

It may be my age, and not coming from a background that included rugby.

I left Ireland in the 80's,returned 00's and in the time spent away i think the nation's interest it seems has grown, people who I grew up with are now massive rugby fans. And when we meet up I feel i am missing out, but cant understand the game and cant get interested at all ,even when in a packed pub with everyone watching the game.

It is great to see a nation get behind a team, but not for me, unless some kind person/s would like to get me up to speed

Ireland have only won three times in the history of the game on french soil up until this match . To say anything other than it was a great win is truely disingenuous to Irish rugby and the players that took the field in horrendous playing conditions .To attempt in any way to lower the currency that this win and the fashion in which the game was one ,is in some way to say that you are not a true rugby follower and that you simply do not understand the value it truely holds .

Yes O Gara's Grand Slam kick was magnificent and In my view he was a better player ,Johhnys carrear is't over yet, so we cant judge them yet.But lets not beat each other up yet over who's the best just yet .Johhny's in the driving seat for Ireland lets wish him and his team well, and not be telling them they are nobodies . Strangely Jeremy Guscot did'nt think so , he could'nt applaud them enough and he's an English man.

True I will never forget it ,5 mins out just after the French scored the try ,and we seemed vanquished , I turned to my 10 year old son he was sobbing ,I hugged him and told him dont worry son ,we've still got a full 5 mins , a drop goal or a penalty and we'll win . Slowy his tears dried as Ireland went through the 41 phases, and as Johhny kicked that match saving championship/ Slam saving drop goal ,the tears were again in full flow only tears of joy ,as I now joined him . I will never forget it .

Fair point ,but were down a serious winger /full back in Zebo. I feel Earls is gonna be needed on the wing as its pretty pedestrian out there at the moment ,and Kearney will be kept in his specialist posistion.Just a pity we didnt have Zebo on the other wing and as back up in the No 15 department .Then we would really be back in business in the back three. But we must carry on with the personel we have at hand.

Was reading an article earlier where John Muldoon said he reckons Henshaw is far more suited to 15, and that this is actually Henshaws preference too.

The article is on Off The ball, it’s worth a read.

I hav'nt read it but its certainly worth a read and consideration Im sure . Theres no doubt our back line needs tweeking, its the aftermath of O Driscoll and his loss along with others. The centre field is a posioned chalice of sorts as nobody will be able to fill O'Driscoll's boots ,in a hurry.I wouldn't blame him if he wanted to slip into the 15 shirt, and let someone else take on this huge challenge of filling the void .Its a brave task for any player to under take .

In form attacking player at the mo is earls and if ball does not get out to him he is wasted on the wing he is good under the high ball very rugby savy and he would bring attacking power with his speed and ability to link up with the backs lots of balls kicked at full back in modern game great attacking platform and big plus he has played there on the big day before

A win, but a disappointing second half. Shame about Henshaw, but Furlongs news seems more positive.

I wonder is Mako Vunipola on here?! I’d fancy a scrum with him!

I read back and do not see any negative shit irl not playing fot the 80 full mins of any game and will get caught by better teams but hopefully they will improve thats not negative thats fact from somebody that played at a senior level and coached lets not paper over the cracks at this stage irl are third in the world and need to get back up there to that level of playing but well done so fair but bigver tests lie ahead

No it won't, we have won feck all yet..

O Gara drop goal to win grand slam, that was a sporting moment in history..

Of course it will. A game they shouldn’t have won, clenched in the death..

It’ll definitely be remembered

If we don't win the championship or grand slam, that game will be forgotten about in 12 months.. "

So, how big was that kick now then?

A fantastic performance Ireland, - so proud of you guys!

Massive ask to go to Twickenham next week and win. England won’t want to lose three on the bounce. And it’s hard to win away from home!

He is there because he has experience in big games fair enough joe does not take chances but he is not an attacking full back any more zebo should have being picked he is still in ireland and he would not be taking the place of another full back comong into world cup as carney will not be there then

Zebo is in terrible form at the moment and is not even the best fullback in Munster, Conway was streets ahead of him before getting injured. Also his comments about Joe’s structure being too rigid were naive at best and bitter at worst.

World Cup is next summer and it’s hard to tell who will start. Lots of options for Joe with Larmour, Carberry and Conway there to provide competition for Kearney

complaining about the methods of one of the world's best coaches eh ...... sounds like he's got too big for his boots.

He was pretty average for Ireland in his last few games anyway.
