Earlier in the day I put up a status about wanting to meet up with a professor in Trinity. It was actually a personal joke between a myself and a friend. As the day passed I completely forgot about it. I just opened my messages to find a one from someone I have never spoke to before mocking me for even thinking a prof would be interested in me because I'm 45 and curvy. Someone like that would have their pick of younger women! Why would he chase you? What possesses people to waste their time writing a message just for the sake of being mean and belittling another person? Does it make them feel superior or something? Bitter little man. Has anyone else ever had that kind of thing happen?

Obviously the person that messaged you isn't getting any messages replied with an attitude like that, so instead goes around provoking people perhaps looking for a reaction. Sad really this isn't what the site is for. I'm sure the block button came in handy

I told him off then I blocked him. I'm not hurt by it because obviously he's a gobshite lol. But I really do wonder how little people like him have in their lives that that is entertainment to them. Pathetic.

I blocked him for sure. It just made me start thinking about what a sad weak person it is that behaves that way unprovoked. Like, the sight of my status made him angry. Weirdo.

I didn't report him because he was just a jerk sharing an opinion that wasn't asked for. He wasn't abusive or threatening. Just a dickhead, lol. I don't think admin could do anything about his personality, hahaha! But he was blocked for sure.

Anonymity and the internet gives them a window to be mean. In the 4 years im here, its only ever happened to me once, where i was called a Cee You Next Tuesday because i had " not meeting at the moment" on my status. Then the profile was unlos seconds later.

Would have to agree. Although I think his ego isn't dented but has been stroked vigorously here.

The name calling is just as bad on this thread. I don't understand the mentality of stooping as low. Absolutely no problem in accepting that some men send messages that are solely to offend. They are just to get a rise out of the person. It's a job done well when you take to the forum about the message. I always think block and report and don't give it a second thought works best.
