I've been lucky enough to interact with people from most countries of the world and have friends from all over and I'd say most nationalities would be 90% good and 10% not so good.

But, all nationalities seem to get on best with their own. Probably cos they have most in common with each other.

Where were you raised though? If I had Irish parents and was born here but raised in Spain I'd probably get on with the Spanish more. I think he's right for the most cases. In work the Irish group together and the Polish group together and even lads from the same area of limerick group together in there too haha

What he said is actually anthropologically proven correct.

Was pretty good but as a foreigner in Ireland naturally differences come up. However I do wonder why most of the women he talks to raises questions about STDs in foreign men....point taken however, but get the sense some are sensitive to any hint of criticism

I'd consider it ignorance more than arrogance, given that Ireland is in the European top 5 for incidence of 2 common STDs

"I'd consider it ignorance more than arrogance, given that Ireland is in the European top 5 for incidence of 2 common STDs "

I was just joking, obviously women don't talk to me.

But...

Europes top sti spots.

1. Sweden

2. Germany

3. United Kingdom

4. Poland

5. France

6. Spain

7. Italy

8. Denmark

9. Switzerland

10. Austria

Ireland is in the bottom 20 of the whole world for hiv, but lets take your post in detail.

You are talking about a newspaper report that said Ireland had become the second in Europe for Chlamydia, what that report meant to say is no one was growing faster in the EU except for the UK.

The UK has a rate of 400 per 1000, and Ireland has a rate of 150 per 1000. Irelands rate has grown very fast, but when country of patient is taken into account and it was only collected for portion of the people, but it translated as 60% of claymdia patients were Irish. 20% europe, 15% latin america.. etc.

When you take 60% of 150, it comes to 90 off the top of my head.

Reading the actual reports does come in useful, instead of reading a news article that read a portion of it and misunderstood it.

Everything there said, my comment was just banter, and the risk for everyone on this site is pretty much equal, because those who undergo risky sexual behaviour are all on an elevated risk, no matter the country. Thats why we all practice safe sex and my comment can be taken as just friendly banter.

Looks like we've veered off the original thread potential but I'm not unfamiliar with that so...

Is it not the case that any sensible person should consider the person they are with to be a potential health risk and act accordingly?

All this is in your own remit and within your own control.

Do what you're comfortable with, insist on the precautions complimentary with your comfort/risk levels and don't accept anyone who isn't happy to comply.

All assuming you are not the carrier of something because the other party should be demanding the same standards. If they aren't, are you playing with fire?

Apologies Sally. Yes, 90% of Irish men are amazing. They've stayed with their Mammy for years so are by default STD free and would be an asset to any woman lucky enough to catch one sneaking out of his family home. Be sneaky and be quick ladies, they're hard to catch but if you manage to snare one, you're in for a hell of a ride
