First Impressions Last....

It takes just a quick glance maybe 3 seconds for someone to evaluate you when you meet for the first time. What catches your attention in those 3 seconds?

And secondly, your profile picture is the first thing anyone sees, and the impression you make on others, whether conscious or unconscious, start with it. What are you portraying to others with your pictures?

Their shoes, says a lot about a person. Their eyes and their appearance( neat and clean). That's what I always look at.

As for me ... I don't know if my profile pic gives a true impression of me but I hope it shows that I'm a curvy woman and I'm sensual.

Good shoes that are clean and decent looking show someone that takes pride in themselves. If you arrive to a date/ meet in runners or tatty shoes it's not attractive.

Eyes BGF well eyes tell it all really. Someone that laughs and smiles alot they're eyes will show it, someone with no joy you'll see it in their eyes too

I've never cared about people's shoes. If people's shoes are too clean or their runners are I just imagine they move very little on their feet. Eyes and face it is for me. You can tell most peoples lifestyles from their face. You can see if they're friendly, grumpy, healthy, drink too much etc...to me shoes mean very little. Could just mean someone has loads of money or little money

I'm talking in general, like not a date. Like I'm talking if I see a male or female for the first time outside the fab world I wouldn't look at their shoes unless they were a funky colour or falling to pieces. Date wise I don't think many people would show up scruffy, I could be wrong but haven't experienced it.

I wouldn't go to look my best - that woyld mean suited and booted and reserve the right to wear those generally at weddings, funerals, interviews and VERY special occasions. But I would look neat and presentable - clean, freshly showered with smellies etc., etc.

Yeah I just don't get this thing that people seem to almost get hung up on re shoes....... For me - when meeting someone for the first time it is about eye contact. How they hold themself - looking past any obvious nervousness to the person underneath. They should be clean and have taken pride about their PERSONAL appearance but I can honestly say that I have never looked at a person's clothes (footwear included) and made a judgement based on that.

I don't, I know scumbags that have the best of everything including shoes and I know young teachers with maths degrees that wear jeans, runners and hoodies daily and even on a date with me haha. I feel I can tell more from a face and eyes than clothes. Always felt like I can tell a dodgy character in seconds and a nice person in seconds from their face

Galway

I was stopped at a traffic lights this morning. A smartly dressed fella was waiting to cross the road. I couldn't believe my eyes! He was in his bare feet! It was about -2 degrees at the time. He strolled off with confidence and I'd say nobody noticed

It's all entwined your saying the same as me. Whether it be smiles or eyes or shoes you make a judgement on someone very soon after meeting them ..if that judgment is favorable then it's about the person underneath but first impressions count and are important and are individual.

I totally agree with you on this. Good direct eye contact, a cheeky glint in the eye and a proper firm handshake are far more important to me than what someone is wearing. I don't tend to think people are dressing for me anyway, I don't usually dress for other people. I don't put much stock in what I wear as long as it's comfortable and clean, and I feel ok in it, and I sure as hell don't judge people based on things I don't judge myself on.

ditto

All depending on the situation. First impressions of a a non sexual meeting for business etc, it's the handshake and how that person holds themselves in conversation eye contact isn't important but body language is.

A potential sexual partner, eye contact and body language is key. Also how a person speaks about friends or family can tell a lot of that person.

I don't know if my profile pic gives a true impression of me but I hope it shows that I'm a curvy woman and I'm sensual."

That was a very honest appraisal Sally

"I've never cared about people's shoes.

It's not about money it's about first impressions. .. did he cate enough about himself to look his best for me. If a man arrives and looks sloppy he must not think to much of me so therefore I'm not interested

I wouldn't go to look my best - that woyld mean suited and booted and reserve the right to wear those generally at weddings, funerals, interviews and VERY special occasions. But I would look neat and presentable - clean, freshly showered with smellies etc., etc.

I don't expect suits but I do expect effort .. the same level of effort I put in. I'd never arrive to meet anyone scruffy. I'd always be neat clean and presentable and wearing lovely shoes "

Too much aftershave is not great if I'm honest. It's nice when people make an effort in how they dress I guess. It's the welcome you get that's important. The first few moments can definitely make the right kind of impression that lasts.

Of course I swear too much and fuck thing's right up early on

I couldn't be bothered what someone's wearing unless it's a suit, it just screams boredom.

It's the glint in the eyes and a cheeky smile. Other than that I'm a hands person, hands tell you a lot about a person.

The first things I notice in a meet are definitely the eyes and the smile. You can generally tell from the eyes if the person is pleased with their decision to meet u.

More importantly for me than anything I see in those first few mins is how welcomed I feel and how warm my reception is. Nothing worse than meetin someone and feeling like they aren’t happy with there decision to meet

Without my permission they don't go anywhere.

Strong hands, small hands, groomed hands, rough hands, sweaty hands, chewed fingernails, sucked fingers, sausage fingers etc they all give you little hints...
