Just been watching a discussion on non binary gender neutral people and we are wondering. Where does this way of thinking end? If for argument sake a non binary genderless person comments a crime are they imprisoned based on their non gender beliefs or on genetics? Do we now need to equip the world for a non gender minority? Could a non binary classify themselves as male when applying for a job but female when paying for car insurance (that by the way is an argument and not a sexist statement). When setting up a gmail account you are asked are you Male, Female or other? Even selecting “other” you are agreeing that you are gender assigned. Where does it end? Non binary humans? I am me. I am not a human. I choose not to be identified as a person. Has the PC brigade gone one step too far?

I think the World has been equipping itself for genderless identity, facebook now offers 70+ options to suit whatever gender you associate with or don't.. fab will be unrecognisable in years to come, with their menu of options

It’s not. Can a straight man enter a female changing room unchallenged because he claims to be gender neutral? No because genetics deems him to be Male. Yes he has a choice but he has to choose. One or the other. It’s not like religion or sexuality. Gender always has to apply. No mater what you pick.

Not disagreeing with the options. It’s the refusing to acknowledge the options.

There was an interesting discussion over on the lounge forum, "Oxford teacher investigated for misgendering to sue school" the thread is full, so I cant pull it up, about 6-7 pages in, you might find it interesting

A third gender is to be recognised from birth in Germany, their top court has ordered parliament to recognise a third gender from birth, potentially making it the first European Country to offer intersex people the option of identifying as something other than male or female, they want this to be law in 2018.

That’s fine. It’s still picking a gender. Refusing to pick a gender no matter what it is will always terminate in sexism. I refuse to be called a male. I am a genderless person who is attracted to people who have vaginas because females and males don’t exist. Everyone becomes labelled not by their sexuality or gender but by their sexual organs. Any other clarification removes the genderless option.

Gender is a social construct. Most of the time it matches a person's biological sex, but not always. We're trying to figure out the best ways to deal with this now but it's pretty new to everyone so sometimes it's not done so well. But a bit of understanding and empathy can go a long way.

Gender is biological. It’s not a choice. We are born male or female or in some cases trans. When’s the last time you heard a doctor proclaim “congratulations, you’ve given birth to a baby they”. Maybe I’m too old to get it. For me religion is a choice, sexuality to a certain degree is a choice but your gender? Get off the fence and pick one.

That's the thing, gender ISN'T biological. Sex is. They're two different things. But just because gender isn't biological doesn't mean it's any more of a choice then sexuality.

And to confuse things more... What sex is a person with female genitals but male chromosomes?
