The 8th of December is some kind of Irish tradition my mother always followed so I do it then.

When it's closer to Halloween than Christmas then it's definitely too soon. I'm always amused by a neighbour of mine who puts up his Christmas tree at the start of November and takes it down the day after St Stephen's day, which is about the third day of the 12 days of Christmas.

Tree goes up today, I have a big family and kids are actually all together today (one lives away most of the time). My kids are in the panto so they have ten shows the two weeks before Christmas amd we also have two birthdays in the house. If the tree doesn't go up today we won't manage it before Christmas.

Usually wait until the 8th December but thinking I'll put it up a few days early, but not earlier than December.

Could be a job for the morning after the work xmas party.... hopefully won't be dying of the fear that day!

We like a real tree so the week before Xmas is time enough so it smells lovely and lives through the season!
