While we regularly comment on threads here and it always seem to be the same commentators i think there is far more people who would like to comment to agree or disagree or sit on the fence on different threads.

I think it would be a great addition to the thread/topic or each individual comment to be able to, at the click of a button and anonymously,

Like, dislike or on the fence about a comment. If you feel strongly about it then the option to reply and quote is still there.

It would give a better figure on the number of people who visit a thread or topic.

Basically a Facebook style set up but liking or disliking a comment without revealing your profile.

On any given thread its usually 6 or 7 people replying in the whole thing. Would get more people involved.

HAVE YOU ANY SUGGESTIONS THAT YOU FEEL WOULD BENEFIT THE FORUMS?

That's my input.

I think it would be great to have more participation on the forum, and a broader range of topic issues up for discussion or just for the craic, I must say though, I do enjoy the banter and at times the madness, but I appreciate that might not be everyone's cup of tea, I'm probably one of the six or seven that you mention so the anonymity button wouldn't be applicable to me

I don't think we give ourselves enough credit here, the vast majority of people here have plenty of cop on and can smell bullshit from a hundred paces, this maybe keyboard warrior interaction, and I can understand the scrutiny some posts and threads get are not palpable for some, having said that some peoples behaviour at times including my own need to be challenged, as much as it would in larger society, ya cant protect people from making mistakes, in my opinion.

what livens up any forum is a bit of debate issue and confrontation. prob with that is you get people reporting and that's the end of that.

Once you report a person for voicing there opinions. Then you have lost the argument, its cowardly, infantile and sickening. I'll bet they had got the guts to admit it to you. No they hide behind PC, H

I’d love to see some new Fabbers join in on some of the threads. Someone’s opinion is exactly that, their opinion and if you don’t agree with it, you debate and put your side across. Sometimes unfortunately, there’s people who like to have an opinion and shove it down your throat while their at it. There is also a lot of cutting remarks and some nasty things said about and to people but on the whole, I think it’s good natured and fun but would love to see more Fabbers get involved.

The forums have become boring in the last few months, it's the same people commenting the whole time and the same people having the same argument over something petty. Maybe if people didn't always hijack a thread then it might encourage more people to participate in the discussion instead of them being brought into an argument.

I'm not sure you can do anything to change it very much. You could ban all the current posters and let an entirely new group take over but very shortly it will end up the exact same again. The numbers who post here have always been small a you always have the same types. It's a reflection of human life in general.

As someone who is relatively new here, as yet unverified and rarely comments,I can honestly say it's because at times certain threads don't interest me! A lot of the time (but not always ) the ones that are worth joining in end up with smart comments or some sort of argument and tbh I just exit that topic and scroll down til I find something else.

I really enjoy a healthy debate and would always encourage interaction but have no desire to get into a petty disagreement with strangers. Especially anonymous ones! Having said that I do enjoy the forums and I reckon a like & dislike button would make it easier for people like me to participate more!! An ice breaker,so to speak! !

Sometimes you have to hit upon a thread at the right time. And sometimes you miss your window and the thread's gone to shit and then you couldn't be arsed even typing up a response.

There are pros and cons for that. Interesting though.

I used to be on another forum on another site where there was an option to 'like' a post and 'star' a thread. At the end of every month the top ten list of each was published. And even a simple thing like that caused arguments over cliques voting for their friends and people complaining that their topics didn't get voted for.

It was quite interesting though to see which topics were starred and which post got post of the month. The winners got a couple of days of free membership as a prize.
