Nice little phone photos privacy trick

I just discovered a simple way to hide any photos on an android phone. Stops anyone borrowing your phone "accidentally" coming across them.

Click on file manager, then click on new folder. Name the new folder .picts or .snaps you must put the dot in front - this makes the folder hidden. Then all you have to do is cut your kinky photos from your main camera gallery, type .picts in the search and paste those pics into the hidden folder where the will remain hidden. To access then later just search for .picts in file manager and boom all your kinky pics are there. Not sure I'd this works for apple but worth a try.

You save your photos to it and it's password protected to open it, very handy.

Securely stores your ‘private’ pics away from prying eyes, access by password

.....

But won't the folder still show up if someone gets your phone and snoops through your folders. It just makes it harder to find but not secure or password protected

Yes but I can't be openly secretive with my phone - IG that makes sense.

Your tip also works for Windows and Mac OS. Its a quick and dirty way to hide directories on shared computers

Just googled it and it can keep the photos and the app itself hidden

Didn't know thanks - don't share a work computer but can see how that could create a whole new load of very bad trouble lol

Or if using the top method, no, you have to know the name of hidden folder to find it - I think!

Aha now that could be handy. I'm using an S7 which has a secure folder for entire apps and private photo's as standard. Both are password protected and really handy.

That's my next phone choice decided then. Does anyone know if S8 has same facility? Just in case it's going cheap on Black Friday

For IOS I use an app called hidden calculator. The app looks just like the ordinary apple calculator but also stores pics which can only accessed by putting in a code
