If you do find that feeling have crept in then discuss it with the other person and who knows you might find the feelings are mutual... If not then it's probably best to move on x

You can set out looking for a FWB but end up with a lot more. Lifes too short to put a time on when something should end. Go with the flow. When it stops being fun then end it. Communication is the key to any relationship. Long or short term.

A fwb relationship should stop if the balance changes and one wants a different relationship than the other.

Sometimes fwb relationship develops into something much more. I delighted that 2 fab friends of mine, I introduced, became fwbs and now they are an item which is brill

Eh, I can't _not_ have feelings for people I bonk regularly because if I didn't have feelings for them then I wouldn't wanna bonk 'em. But they're not necessarily _romantic_ feelings, in the sense of wanting to ride off into the sunset together. I've loved some without being in love with them. But then I've known for years that I'm poly.

For me it has to be friendship first, and I've had many fine friendships where sex was also involved. Which means that open communication is, by nature, a strong feature of the relationship so it's somewhat easier to discuss where each party sees it going or what they want. When should they end? When it's not being what all parties (including other relationships that each party may be involved in, non-monogamy can be fun for dealing with tons of hearts and heads at the same time) need or can handle, but even then it's not necessarily the end because talking is a good and wonderful thing that humans do. It's an individual thing, of course, but that's how things have been for me and I quite like it.

If you set the "terms" at the start and clearly state that if it changes for either of you, it's discussed openly. You both then know where you are and it's up to each party to decide how they would like to proceed. It may mean the end of the relationship but is likely that you will remain friends as a result of your open, adult attitudes.
