The pre run nerves l had on the morning of the marathron nearly made me walk away from the start.

I'm so glad l didn't once the run they disappeared. The atmosphere is fantastic, the camaraderie of the runner's was something l had never experienced before.

Good luck with it op and l hope you enjoy it as much as l did

South Co. Dublin

Find a nice arse to run after and you'll remain focused for the entire race.

Keeping up with that arse would be my biggest challenge

Ran it last year , without a doubt the best experience of my life. I hope to do it again next year. When it gets hard dedicate a mile to someone you love to inspire you. Enjoy it mate its the most wonderful feeling

It’s an incredible experience !!

Have some good tunes or support ready for the Hill in clonskeagh!!

Don’t forget to look around you and smile.

Those last 2 miles with the crowds and the buzz is phenomenal.

The training is done go enjoy it!!

I'll see you at the finish line op, and a word of advice, do not wear new runners, and as difficult as it may be for you, keep your penis to yourself until after the race

Well done on your first marathon, you are In for a fantastic experience, I ran it in 2015&2016 but family commitments took over this year, I'd run three marathons in a year including limk so was training for 18/20 months....the break was nice but am so envious of anyone doing it tomorrow.

Enjoy it all.

Don't worry about the clock.

It will be hard, I won't lie.

But.....once you cross that mat at the finish line you can be so proud of yourself.

You will be buzzing til Xmas.

I've never run it and I never will. But, my father decided long ago that he would train for the 2nd one. I will never forget the atmosphere up there or his face when he finished. The Dublin Marathon was a great part of our lives for many years.

He always found a nice walk the day after the best way to loosen up the muscles

Best of luck and remember the goal is to finish it, not the time

"Find a nice arse to run after and you'll remain focused for the entire race."

Know a bloke who did that once, what he didn't know was the nice arse in front of him was only doing the half marathron.

So he ended up doing a pb for the halfway and died a death in the last 5 miles

I was sticking with the 4.50 pacers, and going great! Went to the loo and lost them. So tried to catch up, I stumbled and my knee popped out! Was gutted
