Guys,

Planning a wee break somewhere we haven't been before with the Mrs next week for a few days.. Any recommendations? At the minute places look good to us are Westport, Carrick-On-Shannon or Kilkenny City.. Don't want to do the city thing. Somewhere that's lively enough though. Any ideas?

Westport is fab. Lots to do. Carrick nice too but its hen and stag central at weekends.

Westport is pretty nice, clew bay is beautiful.

Some Great bars and restaurants .

Athlone is a great town and has Ireland's oldest pub.
