Im an i.t guy and my take on it is bring on the sex robots haha. Nah in reality ive seen stranger but no matter what there is be it a fetish or more, someone is gonna be into it. Cant beat the feeling of another warm body against yours though

I think sex robots would solve a lot of the world problems - less unwanted pregnancies, fewer stds transmitted, population control etc. If they brought out educational sexbots we might learn a thing or 2.

There are pitfalls to them too as in danger of normalising illegal sex practises, objectifying of the human body etc.

I can't see a practical, lifelike, affordable robot being available to Tom, Dick or Harry anytime soon. They'll have to stick with the hoover for now. And Hey, are we just getting left with the 'dildo stuck on a rod on a reciprocating saw motor' or are male enhancing bots on the way too?

Whatever about sexual needs, I just can't see how a robot will fill someones intimacy needs, if anything it could be argued that it would have a worse effect on people who are vulnerable and struggling with social anxiety etc as was also mentioned in the article.
