Women not into men over 40

I've noticed that quite a few women have their age preferences set to no one older than 40. Each to their own and all but I'm just curious to see what some of you think about men in their 40s. Are they seen as past it? Likely to lack stamina? High chance of having a beer belly? What is it about being 40-plus that turns you off?

I do like women around my own age but sometimes I see a really nice profile for a woman who's a few years younger and then I see she won't go above 40 and I just think ahhhh! I'm not particularly bothered by it as I'm a confident enough fella, I'm just curious.

I'm 50 now, but I have never been attracted to men a lot older than me, irrespective of my own age at the time.

It's just a preference, I wouldn't read too much into it. Plus it's a good way of cutting down the influx of messages.

However my research has shown that they don't lack stamina at all, au contraire, they're tougher than many younger lads plus are normally quite laid back gentlemen. They're not in a rush or don't seem to have the urge to prove anything. But that's just my experience....

Jesusim heading towards 50 and seem to be getting younger.... I got a brace to have the perfect smile and a sleeve tattoo..... and get more than ever before.... but I have gone from younger ladies to over 30's as they seem young to me lololol.....

I also only weigh 10 stone and have no beer belly

I feel more secure, with an older guy, especially love fit guys, keep themselves well, articulate, and charming, more experience of life, and interesting too talk too.

And man in caves are most inventive....so just watching? ...a passive huntress?...one eye closed leaves such a big blind spot...

Thanks for the replies folks, couldn't get back online yesterday but read through them all. One thing I'll say is that I find the older you get the more relaxed you are about things in general. Certainly the most enjoyable chats and meets I've had are people around my own age although not always.

Plus I definitely look after myself more these days. I don't overdo it on the drink (just not worth it anymore!), I eat well and keep as fit as I can. I think us 40-somethings also see sex more as something that's very rewarding to us in terms of our overall well being.

And I'm less impulsive and more patient, which is just as well when you're on here

OP is talking about cut off age being 40.... people under 40 don't usually have significant wrinkles hence my saying the wrinkles give age away... I didn't say there was anything wrong with having wrinkles.

If people have said they don't want to meet those over 40, their choices should be respected. Surely its not too much to ask for an element of trust and wishes to be respect!
