I was only reading an article about power surges causing shorts in this block of flats in 2013 last month...

This place has been in the news before. Just renovated recently and looks like the new cladding to the outside of the building has been a major factor to the rapid spread of the fire.

But having seen how many buildings are constructed i am not that surprised that this and all the other fires are happenning and spreading more than they should.

London are being put through the wringer lately. Its one catastrophe after another

Awful....lived in one of those high rises many moons ago....passed nearby those flats only few months back as sister lives in Shepard's bush....those poor families

I was born at the White City. This happened a couple of mile away where a lot of my family still live. Fortunately none live in Grenfell House.

Someone from one of my fb West London groups is still missing tho.

So sad.
