Favourite live albums?

Ok, please bear with me, it`s my first thread and since there seems to be a lot of talk about music and it got me thinking... Anyone interested in talking about their favourite live albums?

For me it has to be...

Deep Purple - Made in Japan

Whitesnake - Live in the heart of the city

Robin Trower - Live

UFO - Strangers in the night

Rory Gallagher - Irish tour

Scorpions - Tokyo tapes

It`s the stuff I grew up on, anyone else like to add theirs?

Must check those out, big Hendrix fan and forgot to add the Band of gypsies album, Machine gun is probably the best recording of a guitar expressing human feelings, a masterpiece in itself.

Dunboyne & Dublin

Motorhead - No Sleep'til Hammersmith.

AC/DC - Let There Be Rock and Live (at Donnington cos I was there)

Thin Lizzy - Live & Dangerous (would any of the ladies like a little more Irish in them )

Metallic - Live Shit: Binge & Purge.

The Black Crowes - Live.

Tesla - Five Man Acoustical Jam.

All amazing! I may add more later

Starting to enjoy this!

Definitely love let there be rock, Tesla's singers banter between songs kind of ruined the album for me but Frank Hannon's solo at the end when he switches to electric is brilliant!

Missed that donington show with AC/DC but was there in 84, great day!

Love the Black Crowes BTW, croweology is great if you haven't heard it!

The Tesla one, you have to watch the video to really enjoy it most.

Yep, have everything by the Crowes.

Oh! Another to add is Chris & Rich Robinson Brotherhood. Short but great live show.

Correct my hendrix statement..it was royal albert hall??

Ps.machine gun is a mighty fine tune...hendrix made the guitar sing like very few after him

I haven't heard all of Keith Jarrett in Koln, but the parts I have heard are astounding. Esbjorn Svensson is well worth a listen too.

Also on the jazz front, Pat Metheny's the road to you is a great live album.

When I get the chance to transfer to pc and eq it I can send an MP3 or wav file to you. It might take some time but the quality isn't bad, and it will be from the master tape.

I bought a Pixies best of years ago (before they reformed), it had a bonus live disc with it which was unbelievably good, far better than the studio cuts which I was only a fairweather fan of.

Must dig it out and give it a spin!

Speaking of bonus discs, you reminded me of the Bowie at the beeb cd which came with a limited edition live disc. Best version of ashes to ashes I've heard. Not even a Bowie fan but I bought it just for this.

Thin lizzy - live and dangerous

Led Zeppelin - BBC sessions (Celebration day is a fantastic measure of the lads current day)

AC/DC- if you want blood

Slash - made in stoke

Rory Gallagher - Montreaux fest 70's

The Blues Brothers - Suitcase full of blues

Pink Floyd - Pulse

The Band - the last waltz

The Allman brothers - Filmore east

**Oasis at Wembley might have made it in (had they had an able singer who's ability wasn't just limited to his attitude and balancing a tambourine on his head)

I may be leaving some out, Queen, Johnny Cash, B.B King.

And I think the ballsiest live performance might have been Hendrix playing Sgt. Pepper while Lennon and McCartney were sat in the audience on the day the album was released.
