Woman or girl?

So as you can expect I know this topic could be a hornet's nest.but the question is.

When does a girl become a woman? Like some one in their 20s, I would refer to them as a girl but what age does that change to woman? Like someone in their 50s will not really be referred to as a girl.

I'm not offering to help you out of the minefield but I refer to my same-age friends in their 40's as girls...I have also been known to need a spanking after being a naughty girl...

I think there is a physical shift involved to be honest, some girls I know in there mid twenties still have that "teen" shape, some 18yr olds have that "womanly" shape - I suppose its visul for me based on hips etc as to whether i refer to you as a girl or woman!

I like both mind you

@corklass Just to exclude misunderstandings, I was only referring to the terminology and word choice of the op, my comment wasn't directed at you or in context to you, you're class woman.
