Stress at work

So this is more of a whinge than anything else. So, feeling great after DIL walk, had a class weekend with kids and went to work this morning all happy with it being a beautiful morning..That's when the happiness ended..as soon as the staff came in, bar two, it was pure negativity. It's not only today, but basically every day. I don't understand if people aren't happy where they are, why do they stay and make others miserable. Having a pure downer from 11 till 7.30 when I seen kids again and being happy once more. Ah well, tomorrow's another day.

People get stuck in a rut. They prefer to complain and blame the world for their problems instead of taking responsibility and fixing their problems themselves.

It's not always easy to burn it to the ground and start again. There aren't so many jobs going, I'm stuck in a dump but I need to pay "The Man" every week too.

Why dont you start with yourself and practise Mindfullness for 10 minutes a day? It actually works and is a brilliant coping mechanism for stress in daily life.

You could suggest it to your work colleagues, where it will change their mood into a more positive one.

Give it a try. Its great for the mind and body

I had a job I hated made me feel like OP every day.

Negative people can only have any power over your life if you let them.

My desicion was to change jobs and a lot of other things too. I know changing jobs can be hard in the current climate and not always possible. But maybe you can change the attitudes of those you work with by simply refusing to accept their negativity. And if it gets too hard to tolerate just find a way to zone them out... headphones perhaps?

Cheers everyone for the comments. I also know jobs are extremely hard to come by, however I think if you're working, and getting paid for it, then you have to follow the procedures set out by the company. I'm going to do more walking now and listening to music to keep me positive. 11 hour shift tomorrow so I'll start on a good note tonight and visit my better half in bed.

You just have to learn to be happy inside your own head and only ever stress about stuff you can change.

Dont worry about what you cant change and if people going to moan let them and just be happy you are not them.

11 hr shifts mean the other 13 hours you off so enjoy living those hours as best you can.

If you learn to be happy about yourself you will have cracked it anD nothing will bring you down

The way i see it ( and i learned a few years ago) that if you cant spare 10 minutes for yourself in the mornings or evenings, youll not spare 10 minutes to listen to loved ones or anybody else. Its so simple and easy. Youtube offer a selection to choose from. Start with yourself and gain control of your own mindset and stress, the rest will fall into place. Give it a week and come back and tell me how you feel best of luck

Some people just enjoy been negative, if someone is down at work and has personal problems I make time and chat with them and if possible I'd give advice that might help them along . If an person is negative about work and others in the work place and bringing down moral they get pulled to one side and are told to fuck off site or change attitude .

That's very true, and I suppose it's easier said than done when you are told to leave your personal problems at home. On a separate note, we are definitely going to try that cuilcagh board walk in beautiful Fermanagh..
