Can't believe these 12 months have passed so quickly..For all those going to bed early tonight or even staying up late to do Darkness into Light well done to all. And even if you can't make it or afford to contribute try and take a moment of time out from your busy life and reflect on the silent society affected by depression and suicide. And always remember if you spend your day waiting for the darkness ul never get to enjoy the sunshine on your back. Xxx F + C

Going to the one in bray as everywhere else was sold out...

It's weird funny walk as I do it alone and feel very alone in my head when I do it but surrounded by people who are in the same boat who have lost someone but I'm just there thinking... my family and friends could have been out there walking for me

Hitting the hay soon as up at 3.20 am to make the start on time at 4.15! Great cause and hopefully lots of money nationwide will be raised! The government turn a blind eye so yet again the people will be out in force instead to raise much needed funds! Fair play to all taking part yee should feel proud!

Lois is taking part in it tomorrow. Think it is an amazing cause, saved my friend's sister's life.

Would I be right in saying suicide is the number one killer of men, ahead of road deaths and prostate cancer? Yet it seems the government and to some extent the media bury their heads in the sand towards it

I suffer and it is an absolute bastard sometimes but I am doing good now. There is a man called Enda from Waterford I think who is climbing mt kilanmangaro carting a washing machine on his back for pieata end of June please support him to (mad fucker)

OK guys night night we better get some shuteye up for walk early. If anyone not doing the walk or staying awake to do it wants to continue the thread please by all means do. Have u ever suffered from depression? How did u recover? Even if u didn't what hope can u give others reading? Just some ideas to talk about. The more we talk about it the less it will happen xxx

Doing it in Letterkenny as well with my Wife and 10 year old. Definitely a worthy cause. Shold be a fantastic crowd.

Really important thing for people to do. I never thought I'd be doing it, but for personal reasons I am. I can't emphasise how important it is to talk to someone even it's just on here on Fab. Most important thing is to not be afraid. Wishing everyone doing it the best tomorrow

Last day of the cycle aagainst suicide tomorrow also so will be making my way to carlow to cycle back to dublin.

It dont matter how you help once you can be there for someone

Its ok not to be ok and its totally ok to ask for help.

Shine a little light into peoples lives if you can. You might be the one that makes the difference and saves a life..

Stay strong out there.

What feeling doing that run. Ran it in 30 mins after I waited for a friend to finish, but we missed each other and I waited for an hour before leaving. While I was waiting it really was amazing to see the massive line of yellow break through the darkness on the horizon over plains.

The where floods of people 14500 in the phionex park alone,

150000 through Ireland,

200000 world wide.

And such a spread of different people even young kids running with their fathers. This one father and son. The kid being about 6 years old running just ahead of me thorwards the end. The father was gently touching his back with a slight push. But it was he young kid who pic his pace back up to a run and finished strong. It was so tuff that sort of thing but great to see. Truely inspiring really.

Well done you. A local takeaway opened at ours giving out free sausages in buns to all.

On A more sombre note it was very poignant to do the walk again at the harbour when so many have taken their lives over the years.

Massive respect for anyone who took part in this wherever you did last night. Such q fantastic cause to raise awareness for. Hopefully it can make a difference. Any of you out there struggling with addictions, bereavement, financial woes, family matters, employment issues, sexuality or whatever it is please seek out help. It is there.

Done in Galway this morning! Huge turnout! Something that stood after talking to a family that were beside me was people of all ages were taking part! Was chatting to that couple and they were saying how their kids ranging in ages from 8 to 14 wanted to do the walk didn't care about the early start as it was for a great cause! One word came to mind... respect!
