Try to tell them in a way that doesn't judge them or demean them. Keep it simple too.

You are a great person and even though you are everything I could ask for the spark isn't there.

I did the above recently, but did not block. I only block if extreme cases or some other issues.

I sent a polite message to a woman being honest to say I don't think we are compatible due to interests etc she is really good looking and popular. It was just based on interests alone, I was not comfortable with some things... I did not want to waste her time as she asked if I was available to meet. My message got deleted and I got blocked.

Then I counter blocked...

Some people hate it if they get deleted/blocked, but I prefer it because it saves time for everyone.

I even asked a woman to block me once... ha! How crazy is that
