Is it ok to want to chat wit someone on d site for a bit 1st, then a coffee meet, before taking it any further?? I mean u don't want to turn up and not be interested in d person, or they look nothin like d pic they sent u.. the amount of guys dat jus want to meet straight off d bat is crazy...

Im hoping to meet up with new people in Dublin this weekend. Id prefer to go for a coffee/drink before going any further.

Can I ask what happens if you all turn up - and the 'connection' isn't there? do you just all agree to go home, no hard feelings type thing?

I think thats easier to do as a couple as there is two of you. Single women probably don't want to say no thanks in a hotel bedroom in case the man turns nasty. Therefore the social meet first

Of course the social meet first isn't foolproof but you do get a feel for someone - so to speak

Single guys would always be guys I've met previously at socials or events , mostly the same for couples and ladies . its a great way to meet and get to know people a bit .

But if a play meet is arranged wouldn't be diving straight in either always have a quick drink or Tea/coffee first just to make sure everyone is happy to play and feeling comfortable .

I wouldn't meet Anyone who starts getting pushy for diving straight in. Big red flag .

Perfectly acceptable!!! Chatting for a while first gives you a chance to gauge if you might have chemistry.. And you'll be far more relaxed (or excited!!) then when you do meet... Even if its just for a cuppa

Pushy guys demanding immediate meets within minutes of sending their first mail are a complete turn-off for me... You just get the impression they'd stick it in anything!! Not exactly flattering lol

Personally am always happy to meet for a drink (alcoholic or not) first. I'm quite fussy and prefer it if the couple or lady are too. I've experienced a no thanks during a coffee and I've made my apologies also, literally no hard feelings

Stopped bothering with coffee as they generally where assumed as a right to grope which turned me off... now I just go straight to meeting and no allusions of coffee. If no attraction it's acceptable to say so given we both know we haven't met before!

I wouldn't do it any other way I've met people I've chatted and got on great and met thrn to just not have any attraction at all and a non smoker who stank like an ass tray was a big put off

Personally I'm not into lengthy mail chains before meeting for a face to face chat & beverage of choice.

Nothing beats face to face chemistry to know if anything more is on the cards.

Meeting outright for sex with someone you've not chatted at all with before or actually seen... reeks of desperation, firm both parties, or simply too good to be true...

My opinion, avoid someone who does that (or offers to do so).
