Hotel and bringing someone back ?

So ill be entertaining a lady "friend" who is visiting Ireland.

Ill be staying the night in Dublin city. So need a hotel..

It's not guaranteed that we will end up in our birthday suits

But it is likely.

What are the protocols for bringing a guest to a room i booked for myself?

She is gonna be in a hotel on her visit and its a shared room, so that's no help should things get a little more hands on.

Do I let the hotel know or book a room for 2?

In dublin city? Reasonable.... No chance. Best off going slightly outside the city

If the site asks for 1 or 2 people, say 2, then if you're alone you can always say you're friend couldn't make it.. that's in the unlikely event that you'd be asked

Yes but he should inform the hotel because there is a single rate and double rate regardless of the size of the bed in the room...
