Thoughts are with the friends, families and colleagues of 116.

The crew who brought the first 116 crew member to Mayo General Hospital are one of the bravest group to bring their friend and collegue on their last flight. Most have been one of their hardest missions.

I can't find the words to describe the admiration I have for these people who will risk their lives to help others.

May they rest in peace

Jesus I can be inappropriate at times but that is disgraceful. I'd love to see you attempt to fly a helicopter on a sunny day never mind at night while trying to save someone's life.

You sir are the reason guys get a bad name here.

Eternal Father, strong to save,

Whose arm does bind the restless wave,

Who bids the mighty ocean deep

Its own appointed limits keep;

O hear us when we cry to Thee

For those in peril on the sea.

I had the pleasure of meeting Capt Dara Fitzpatrick on a number of occasions when she was captain of Rescue 117 based out of Waterford. A complete professional, dedicated and determined. A terrible loss of such great people.

BBC reporting that Blackrock island (that has a lighthouse on) Was NOT listed as an obstacle on Rescue 116' charts. They flew straight into it. Someone has to answer for this.

Agreed, but also how many more "obstacles" are missing. Serious issue for whoever developed the system

The system is vastly out of date and this tragedy will mean a complete overhaul!

The transcripts were harrowing!

Dara and the rest of the crew were exceptional crew
