Thanks. I've worked as a gym instructor done the training qualified nutritionist. So not worried about the mechanics of it or the nutritional aspect. Just looking for home remedies for the pains of the first few days.

Was hoping someone would have some secret remedy. An old school instructor I knew swore by rubbing jäger on his joints. He was also an alcoholic but was in serious shape at 50+ going back around 10 yrs ago.

If you were a gym instructor you should literally know the tricks of the trade lol ... glucosamine sulphate, cod liver oil and glutamine pre and post work out will help with recover and protect your joints. If you need a but of something extra I use tiger balm on muscles.

I'm aware of all the supplements.

Just wondering is there any home remedies. More so out of curiosity.

Im surprised nobody has recommended taking epsom salt baths. My own lads use the salt regularly after training, footie, hurling and working out. Its not a home remedy as such but everbody should have it in the medicine cabinet.

The salt isnt only good for muscle soreness and joint pain, its great for oily hair,as an exfoliator and as a laxative. Theres loads more benefits of using epsom salt. Just a thought in case you might like to try them.

Very interesting! Must look into this.

My other tip after hard leg days is cold baths. Not as nice as Epson salts im sure but really help the body repair.

Cyclists do it....among other things

.....

There is absolutely nothing you can apply the the skin be it soaking in bath salts or rubbing leprechauns tears on you. Keep well hydrated and feed your muscles, protein and replace lost salt/vitamins. Every thing else is just a waste of time. If your doing it properly it should hurt for the first week but you already know your limits. Foam rollers are a godsend after leg day. Just bite your lip and get stuck in

Thanks for the input.

Glad to see a thread where there's no bitching or trolling.

Keep up the good work folks.

Foam roll fr 5-10 minutes if they provide that at ur gym this will easy of the Dom's so many people don't understand the benefit of foam rolling it increase blood flow, mobility range of motion and will increase ur flexibility ohh and also if u have cellulite it will also help for that 2 and I'm not saying it will gt get rid of the Dom's but it sore will help ur easy them off and recover faster after a training session I personal foam roll and stretch at the end of each work I hope this help u out and if u have any question on how to use the foam roller ask the personal training but I do have one tip wen u find the sore spot sit on it fr 15-20second inhale and exhale digging deeper into that no after 20seconds roll of slowly on the sore spot until it eases of a little try to get as many notes out as possibly

Hope this helps!.

Sorry grammar but all ever the places but not going written that again need the bed nite to u fab people
