I'm going to Dublin next month with a friend and we're looking for somewhere to have a meal.

Somewhere unusual.

Last time we went to the Blind Pig. And very nice it was but I'd like to try somewhere else.

Any ideas anyone?

Dublin

The Green Hen on Exchequer Street. Good food, nice atmosphere and music.

Great cocktails too.

Fire in the Mansion house or The Harbourmaster IFSC have both entertained me recently. Oh and The Porterhouse off Grafton St if you like tapas.

Speaking of tapas... Kavanagh's aka The Gravedigger's in Glasnevin do Irish tapas, or at least they used to!

Skinflint, off dame street, alley at the oak.

The Marco Pierre White place on Dawson street is great also

South

If it's casual, definitely alfies on south William st. Good food and savage cocktails, check out their instagram page.

Fancy - go to Fire @ the mansion house. Couldn't recommend it enough.

My meat market in smithfield, cool, trendy, great music, uber quirky and definitely worth a visit. Order a board as opposed to a box and be hungry as it takes a bit of eating.

The Greenery in Donnybrook, frequented quite regularly by Leinster Rugby team

They've also got a Greenery on Lennox St and I've heard they just opened a third in Malahide.
