Here or There

This now has been going on for quite some time, it's only become worse this past few weeks surviving on two hours sleep a night. Tried alsorts of remedies, not that any helped. Is anyone else going through similar. What did you try?

Less time on a screen before you go to bed.

Was having the same problem till i read sn article about mobile and tablet use before sleep.

It recommended not using one for at least 2 hours before bed as the light it emits stimulates the brain and can in a majority of cases lead to broken sleep. Its all to do with a blue light it puts out that you cant even see.

By night 2 of the 2 hour curfew i was sleeping better. After a week i was sleeping all night.

It might be worth a try.

I agree with the above..

Cut out phone, tablet or laptop usage at least 1-2 hours before sleep. Avoiding using bright screens in the dark.

Try reading an actual book bed. Drink a plenty of water also..

But an afternoon nap may be required.

Try a supplement called zma..it's zinc magnesium and aspartame(vitamin b6)..bodybuilders use it to put them into a real deep sleep..it's the magnesium that really works best..you might be deficient..what's your diet like?

I go through fazes of insomnia all the time. I was never a great sleeper, usually 5-6 hours on a good night. My problem has always been shutting of my brain. I could spend up to 3 hours lying in bed before I'd doze off. Also I never sleep well in a bed that isn't my own.

Recently I've been on a bit of a health kick: working out and eating the right foods at the right times and my sleep has improved dramatically. I'm still only getting on average about 6 hours but I fall asleep a lot easier and am full of energy when I wake up.

Perhaps tweeking your diet may help with your insomnia issues.

I've the opposite problem, always tired.

Aspartame is an artifical sweetener by the way.

Try melatonin.

If you really need to use phone or laptop, there are apps that can filter the blue light out of the screen that keeps you awake.

So that insomnia thing has kicked in with me tonight. It's 10 to 6 in the morning and I still haven't been to bed.

The joys of shift work eh?

Can't get off the night cycle this week. Up listening to U.S.U.R.A. 'Open Your Mind' at the moment.

This works well for some.

Many sleep disorders are psychosomatic and the body has a learning curve. Soon it relearns and it needs less sleep ( short term) and so it can be re taught again but long term damage can happen.

Phone and tablets at night are a no no for those who suffer.

It sounds like a combination of things like with most people and so there isn't a one action will sort it. You'll need to try a few things and retrain the body. C BT is a useful and can give you tools to help. These tools are useful for other things later as well.
