Yeah, the so called "broadcasting licence" load of bollocks. they're afraid to call it what it actually is: a stealth tax on the internet. they know most people are cutting the cord and going online for their entertainment and they're missing out on revenue. We're already taxed on our internet service, and it's called V.A.T. Most people already know the loopholes out of the TV licence scam and this is their way of scamming us again. Don't fall for it. What's worse is they're subtle with conditioning us to accept this new charge. A while back RTE ran an ad promoting the TV licence and how RTE provides such a great service, and we see plenty of talking heads spouting on about how they love to watch the RTE on their phone, laptop etc....but what was missing from an ad about the TV licence? that's right....a TV. I won't accept the broadcasting charge, the same way I wont accept the TV licence. If you want RTE, then my all means pay for it. through a subscription based model. Those who don't, let us opt out. Don't force me to pay for a service I don't want. | |||
