Since she's on this account with you, she can surely tell you herself.

I'm a great fan of the personal touch. I'd definitely cook her delicious meal, have quiet night in, turn off mobiles etc, nice bottle of wine and if you want to push the boat out, a small personal gift. The gift could be anything, a new top, a pair of earrings(don't have to cost a fortune), a picture frame with your favourite pic of you both in it...along those kind of lines. Don't over think it, the simple things are often the most memorable and romantic.

"I will never understand why we need this hyped up American practice of consumerism to show/tell our partners in monetary terms how much we love him/her.

Op, I recommend to donate some money to a good charity, cook a nice dinner, have sex, cuddle and whisper some sweet stuff into her ear while nibbling it. The whole package is priceless...."

Totally, it's not about love, more about competitive insecurity.

Fill the fridge full of lots of different beers let her pick 2 for herself (make sure you hide all your favourites at the back) if she doesn't appreciate this I would leave her.

Book a table for the night.

Wait till you get to the snooker hall and record her look when she realises what you have done.

Then run like hell.

Sounds like you've done most things over the years....and it's kept you both rewarded.

Sit down and go through all your years together..get your favourite photos about 50 and pen a little ditty of each one. Then go online a get it printed into a photo book for her.

That's personal, from the heart and will touch her deeply.

Get kids looked after and do a one day trip/flight to somewhere you both remember as significant ( so needs to be close ish?)

Walk, talk and listen to each other and present her with the photo book.
