Not necessarily.

Some people have 'fab phones' and some have phones that aren't linked to any other sites

Is viber any good? I don't have it and a friend wants to add me on that. Pro's and cons would be appreciated.

All those apps are OK until you have no coverage...we live in the middle of nowhere and data coverage is sparse...we have a separate number for play...

It's pretty much the same thing as WhatsApp!

You're a plague on WhatsApp, hope they know what they're getting into!

Viber's encryption is not meant to be the best. I'm currently weaning myself off it. Hardly anyone I converse with uses it now.

I use WhatsApp instead. Or kik for fab conversations.

It's no good and it doesn't do anything that kik or what's app would cover.

Be aware that when giving out number that privacy settings on facebook default allows for people to search by number, so key in number on facebook, search and there you have it..facebook profile comes up...

This can happen even when phone number locked down and not displayed on facebook so either take it off or change privacy settings

Some of my fab friends didn't know this, I put in their number in facebook and up they appeared

The risk, it happened to me, fabber found my name, location then used census data apparently and got my address...tried to blackmail me...all from giving him my number...

Naive I was to risks, now kik used and number removed from facebook

Thanks for the advice. I have the other platforms for here on my swing phone and I find them good. I don't see the point in having yet another app if it's the same as whatsapp. Cheers

Co Down

Jaysus that's mental, but yeah, never have phone number on fb, even fb messenger has access to all your contacts without your number being stored on your fb profile. So if you have numbers saved on whatsapp/contact's but no number on fb, you can still appear on the 'people you might know' section of fb.

In short fb is harvesting all the information on your phone

When I first joined I gave my number to a man on here. He was married and he constantly tried to ring and text at all hours of the day.....I tried to ignore most of the time but in the end I had to block him totally. I learnt my lessson quickly. Never would I give my number out unless I totally trust the person
