"Cramming for some hints and tips. Any pointers or moves from the experts?"

Well bondage is a big subject.

Bondage for beginners ... safety first.

Bondage can be very dangerous. Don't ever cut off circulation by tying to tight. Always leave rook for two fingers to be inserted between the rope and skin. Never restrict the airway or tie rope that can cause strangulation.

After safety you need to know your plan.

What is it you want to do?

How do you want to achieve that?

For me, If you are just looking to give him/her a sense of restriction tying legs open is always a good idea. It makes the subject feel vulnerable. Double your rope over and loop around the knee (so one end of the loop is on their thigh and the other is on their calf). After 3 or 4 loops bring the end of the rope through the gap between the knee and rope. And wind it around. It's a simple knot but looks beautiful. I will post a pic of a similar one on our profile

Relax. Don't get yourself in a knot over it.

If you're looking for very good advice from ppl that are in the bdsm lifestyle there's a well known site you can Google for it. They even have events and classes on shabari. You might want to try there if you're serious about learning more. Xxx

I'm not well versed in giving only receiving.

A Dom girlfriend of mine got really into the art of shibari. She made it look so easy and could even weave the most amazing intricate rope work on herself. A real joy to watch.

The ropes were soft and extremely flexible. Not taught rough rope you might get in a hardware store. They were shibari ropes and there's a difference so she said.

We knew each other and met a good few times before we added this play. Even though she was a woman you still have to have trust in the person binding you.

She had books on the art and watched a huge amount of tutorials before she even began to use her skills and that was at a pace she was very confident in. She wasn't going to do anything she wasn't sure of and had classes. Some of my best and memorable experiences to date. Sigh*

Alcohol was never involved.

There's other ways that can be a fun place to start. Bed restraints and door restraints are easily brought on meets and are soft around wrists and ankles. All the restriction without feeling too overwhelmed and so easy to get on and off.

It's a huge amount of fun when done right.

Good luck with it

Added. It's on her wrist but the same theory applies. Take two limbs, loop the rope around, then cover the gap between limbs in a "tube" of rope.

It's not shabari which is art. Mine is more functional

and a tip.

If she is married stick to the leather cuffs.

They mark less than the rope ..

Of course bondage isn't just rope. Belts, cable ties, rolled up sheets.

it is important to know what you want tho. You need a plan. No point in spending 20 min tying her up on then deciding you want to change position. Lifting an adult body deadweight is very very hard.
