Isn't there an emergency passport option? It is expensive but I think it's an option. 1 day is all it takes from memory

Carlow

Do you know any TD's or someone who can get you access to one? They all have hot lines to the passport office.

Try the twitter account as well @passportIRL, they were helpful to me in the past

Hope it works out for you

Tried that but because her application is in system she can't have one.

I offered to pay and all nothing

Perhaps a change of flight to later in week? Is it in the EU? Isuppose at 9, she has no other form of photo ID? Or it's a Ryanair flight?

I know somebody in Cork but it's a bit late now...

It costs a bit more but they should be able to print you one given a 12 hour window if you'd been in yesterday...

Sadly I think it can only be done in exceptional circumstances in a family emergency where proof is provided.

I do hope something good happens for your little one though. x

That's my next plan but they won't even tell me when it will be ready to collect

Tracker says target date is 6th

At the desk in Dublin she said 11th

Balbriggan said 16th

So I can't even risk changing the flight

Yeah they said that's what the emergency ones are for now

But what's so annoying is if I didn't bother applying I could have got one yesterday but because it's in system there is nothing they can do

I asked them to bin one in system and I'd pay the 150 on the day passport fee but no they wouldn't

Near Toulouse

Is it to travel in EU? In such case you don't need a passport, just ID is enough

Would go into Molesworth Street office because balbriggan doesn't have a public counter to answer queries. Go in with all flight details etc. They might be able to do something for you.

When did you send application in?

I went down to the passport office the day I was due to fly out...

I offered to pay for a new passport to go through the next batch..,

I got it there and then just over an hour before I was due fly out..(the drive to the airport is a whole different story)

It's worth a shot..

Sorry to hear that. Nothing worse than disappointing a child. Unfortunately mills of bureaucracy don't have feelings. I hope you find a way to make it up to her.

Same happened us a few years ago. Waiting for passport with balls of sweat on our faces.. and a rush to airport.. as you said, its a worth a shot..it can only make things better.. bring luggage etc just incase its a success.
