Have RTE absolutely no imagination at all?

I have RTE1 on now and there's a 'new' show on. Another bloody hidden camera prank the public show. That's at least 4 of these types of shows in recent times.

'Naked Camera', 'Anonymous', 'The Fear', and now 'Senior Moments'. Can they not come up with anything new? I'm so glad I'm forced to pay a TV license fee.

It's easy and it's popular. No idea why, most of them are shit.

"It's easy and it's popular. No idea why, most of them are shit. "

But they're not even trying with the pranks; old man talks dirty about his young girlfriend to a member of the public. The member of the public laughs and looks shocked. Then it's revealed to be a prank. WOW RTE, really pushing the boundaries of entertainment there.

No they don't is the answer.

I've no Irish channels, I didn't bother to buy that saorview box and I'm telling you I didn't miss any of those channels since plus I'm far less exposed to the governmental brainwash.

They would be better off showing re-runs of Mike Murphy's Candid Camera, with the legend Dermot Morgan

I know. It breaks my heart to be giving them money. I avoided it for years but a few months back it was crunch time and I gave in. Just couldn't be bothered with the aggro.

What annoys me the most though is how they charge a fee, sell adverts and even on the RTE player you can't watch a show without ads at the start and halfway through.

I fully believe the reason the water charges will never be scrapped, even though there is mass non-payment, is because they know the TV license will be next.
