Does 'very straight' indicate homophobia?

I don't know about ye but when I see someone write 'very straight' or '100% straight' I think homophobe!

I'm straight myself but I'm no homophobe and wouldn't put things in those terms. I'm open minded enough to have thought about it and conclude that it is not for me. Anyone else not like those 'terms'?

Maybe it's just a way to highlight the straight part in the hope it will cut down on the "wanna bj" messages from guys.

I dont think its homophobic.. id say it's just to try discourage all the 'straight' guys from messaging looking to give or relieve bjs. Imo it has to be stressed here... even if they don't listen anyway.

I sometimes wonder that myself and it really depends on the context where it's used.

But it removes any ambiguity so I am fine if that's the intent.

its cause most guys won't listen anyway. They assume that everyone is fab straight when they aren't.

I don't think it has anything to do with homophobia, it's just a term to exclude fab straight.

I point out on my profile too that I'm straight - ok I wouldn't use very - simply to underline that I'm not looking for bi play and I'm no homophobe at all!

I don't think that's the OP's original intent of the thread. But I think you may have stumbled upon a big gay conspiracy.

Regina the uptight Is certainly not a quality I would want in a playmate. There's so much less room for adventure.

I never really noticed it OP but I will say that when I signed up first I was getting message after message from gay, bi, and straight lads asking me do I wanna suck, fuck, or am I horny?

I had to then state that I am straight in the first line of my profile, although I didn't use 'very straight' or '100%'. Now I rarely get a message from males but I still get the odd pic fab from gay and bi males and I'm fine with it. Quite flattering if I'm honest, it's always nice to know that someone fancies you .

But the constant messages got annoying after a while so I can understand why a straight male would use 'very straight' and '100% straight'.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I never took it up as homophobic.

But you have it written on your own profile that you're straight and don't want them messages. So you are purely questioning the semantics of how others write the same sentence? I don't think it is homophobic. Nor do I think people saying "no black men" or "BBC only" as racist.

While I can see why it would come across as homophobic part of me thinks that maybe these people have gotten to a point where they are sick of having to say "no thanks I'm straight" and felt that maybe if they specify that they are 100% straight that it will clear things up?

I fab straight guys. I don't msg them and when I do get a msg from one I do ask about the straight profile. Guys can be ignorant as hell. And I mean guys, not just gay guys but all men. I'm sure there are plenty of harassed women here too. It's the internet it's expected at this stage

It is not homophobic at all. For example because of one's accent it is beeing asked if it is Irish. Its answer is "I am 100% Irish". Does it make it xenophobic? I don't think so

I think any catergorization by culture, religion or nature leads to an eventual phobia in time, be it a homo, xeno, islamo or similar type. Classificationjust creates a platform for the them and us brigade. Haters!

Theres so much bi-phobia in general (mainly against the bi fellas here) that I totally understand why many choose not to state it and thus, why it might pay for some to drop a mail to straight profiles.

I felt the need to specify in my own profile so I dont think you can assume homophobia just from that one thing. Ive no doubt though that there are many homophobes using the '100?' qualifier. Ive certainly seen some shitty comments to that effect.

Fair play to the lads that wear their sexuality on their sleeves on here!

Don't see why it's at all homophobic. Honest, not rude,I don't think I've ever seen it but I almost certainly don't inhabit the right parts of Fabworld!
