pipe work ??????

hey people just wondering if any one knows a quick fix solution for minor leaks.Radiator at home and 2 fittings in the hotpress have tiny leaks.Stresafull stuff just before the xmas.Plumber needed by looks of it

Get two spanners...that fit the nuts only tighten the one thats leaking....gently,lefty losey...righty tighty....and not too much just a nip

Don't put it in the large tank that's the domestic water the small one is the heating system but u must drain off enough water first so that it gets down into the system

There should be a drain cock near ur heating appliance or maybe on a rad near the front or back door. Tie up the ball cock in the small tank and drain the system trough the drain cock once the water stops coming close the ball cock add the leak sealer to the tank and release the ball cock. Vent all the rads to ensure they are full and run the heating system as normal, The sealer finds the leaks comes in contact with the air and hardens sealing the leaks

Absolutely do not use any plumb 7 or anything like that of the sort. If you want to take pics and send them to my kik I can tell you what to do. If it's on pipe fittings it's a very easy fix

Exactly big spill all over the house place wrecked for Xmas would dry it out till next year

No one has even asked is it a sealed system or what .. He goes open valves asking for trouble !!

Best thing he could do is get some jointing compound while rads are off push into leaks (temp measure) an let it set . And then ring the professional for a dry house for Xmas

ya reckon if i get some boss whitw and rub in to the rad valve where the leak ia will work

That's what I have done as temp measure an kept applying it if water appears an I would not go adding stuff to your system if you don't know what your looking at eg . Where your adding it to like your tank in the attic . You would prob wake up with no teeth in the morning if you added that shit to that tank .

Plumb7 is akin to putting a cracked egg in your cars radiator to stop a leak....does nothing but cause you more trouble down the road. More than likely all you have to do is get an adjustable spanner and nip up the nuts a little more.

Take off the thermostatic head or white cap whichever you have and u will see a small hex shaped nut. 99% of the time this is slightly loose. Get an adjustable spanner and tighten it easily. Clockwise is the direction you tighten it

Obviously you're not talking from experience, I did it, it didn't, and it was the biggest, lowest rad in the house.

Open nut and put white tape on thread of nut and over olive. An even not too thick layer. And gently tighten little by little checking as you go

PTFE tape on the treads of the joint an tighten back up Or even some Tec 7 sealant around the leaking area
