Question about potential party?!

So!!

I've been trying to organise a play party for January and have a few potential venues... but have a wee conundrum!

Opinions?

Would people prefer a kooky unique space that I could get for a reasonable rate and would therefore not ask anyone for a contributory fee....

Or would people prefer a swanky fancy place where I'd have to ask for around 50 euro a couple to chip in?

(Both scenarios end with me at a loss but hey I'm doing it for the fun!!)

What would people prefer?!

I don't see why you should be at a loss. Charge people a fair rate to cover the cost of the venue. I think that's fair

I appreciate that Slutty... but just wanted to throw an enjoyable elegant and sexy event for my Fab friends....

I've already hired (discrete) security and a barmaid for the night...

I'm just in two minds about the venue!!

Yea i get that. But the right people won't mind paying their way. It's unfair on you to have to pay it all. You're very good to do that.

Most don't mind paying their way swanky or not reasonable rates are desirable in exchange for a safe clean place to meet others and play.

you get what you pay for, swanky costs more... end of... the guests either pay or dont attend, most will, long as it aint mad money, and 50 aint mad money....

Swanky, no contest here. People will pay for quality and it ensures everyone there is committed to making the party a success. I believe we will be in Berlin the weekend you have in mind but best of luck with this, we would have loved to attend.

You will probably be looking for a certain calibre of guest then. Will potential attendees be vetted for suitability?

Is it a party (play space / bedrooms at the venue) or a social (night out in club / bar)?

The key for a party is the right number of play spaces for the number of guests you have invited.

And certainly don't plan to leave yourself out of pocket. Yes our events usually leave us slightly out of pocket but no more than a good weekend. We ask a modest fee (e30) per couple to cover the main costs.

Hey guys..... yes in fact a big concern with choosing the right venue has been to balance social areas with appropriate play areas.... however after an (exhaustive!) search I believe I've found three venues that will work perfectly!

We hope to have a total of 20 attendees. Security and bar service will be provided and there will be a (modest!) open bar...

The goal is to create a night of pure self indulgence and opulence! I feel the goal is worth the cost!
