If someone tells you they genuinely like you, do you ever believe it?

Usually not

Years of being told whoppers has made me very wary & I was born cynical

Depends. If its on here yeah, in real life I'd say no if you hear shit been spouted by people. Judge the compliment with facts about that person

Had this on a few occasions here and elsewhere. But when I need to then become a ghost hunter to find them again...I become a little cynical

On fab I find it very hard to believe that someone likes me, I think they are just after what they can get

If someone tells me they genuinely like me then I'll let you know.

But more seriously, yes I would. Realistically I'm a guy so the chances of someone lying and telling me they genuinely like me just to get into my boxers is pretty slim.

Think it depends on the context really. Do they mean like you as a person? Then yeah if youve talked a bit then yeah I could see it. Theres some people Ive seen on the forums a lot or chatted to that seem like good people and equally some Id steer clear of based on their personality but theres never any harm in being wary and taking anything said with a pinch of salt.

Bottom line on fab is we are all here for the same thing...how people choose to approach it speaks volumes. I personally would rather that they crack jokes than blow steam up my ass (not a fab kink)

People can be excited at the prospect of meeting you but personally how can you truly like someone before meeting them.

NSA requires chemistry not a commitment. If I had a good time hanging out with them, that is what I will tell them not that I like them personally, I think these two get a bit confused sometimes

We never ever believe it. We've met too many people who start out all sugar and spice but quickly change once they get the end result.

I get put off with statements expressing fondness and likebility tbh when they haven't met me or chatted to me much. Now, once I have met a person or chatted for a long time, and they say similar statement, I'll accept it

If I've never met them or only briefly met them then no. Have met some wonderful people on here that have become very good friends. Have also met some that would stab you in the back just as quick. Fab isn't real life.....so as someone said you take everything with a pinch of salt till you've been proved wrong by that person telling you they like you

It depends. If it's someone from here I'd be less likely to believe them just because I assume men spew bullshit to get their leg over. In saying that if chatting for a while then it's only natural to like someone eventually

In the beginning yes I believed in people being genuine, unfortunately I'm all grown up now and I don't!

This is the thing, when I meet someone in "the real world", I won't give them a chance really because I'm just assuming they're out for one thing. Sometimes I'm sorry I ever discovered Fab . I just wonder would I be more trusting if I wasn't on here.

Then sometimes you meet someone on here and they will get under your skin no matter how hard you try to ignore it.You're damned if you do and damned if you don't I guess or maybe I just am because I can't let down the walls

I totally get what your saying and I've struggled with this exact thing a lot recently. I'm afraid I don't have an answer though bar taking a break which is what I intend to do over the Xmas and just concentrate on real life

Exactly. Gives some perspective. You can get sucked into the drama etc. When offline you realise how insignificant it all is

It's so addictive though, half the time I'm just going to go on Facebook for a nose and type Fa....... next thing I know I'm here.

Yeah, I've been thinking about having a break myself. So maybe now is a good time.

Been cynical has its qualities. And this site obviously gives reason to be cynical. Best not to over think it. But by been cynical, it keeps you aware of dangers outside and makes you more aware of been safe, also makes you not raise your hopes too high, but in regard to what happens on Fab, don't let it creep into your normal life. If it is, take 3 weeks of and engage in social interaction and forget it for a while. Been cynical is just a sign of truths you've seen, but they aren't truths linked to every person. Feel better folks xx

I'm long enough on this planet to distinguish between flattery and honest compliments/feelings. I've made some good friends on here who cherish my company and the other way around but I still though take it as it is NSA and that's where I keep it.

Looking at the thread theres a definite difference between the guys and the girls opinions. I guess guys dont have girls messaging them telling them whatever to get a meet whereas girls do. Shows how different an experience something like this is for each side and how some rotten apples spoil it for others.
