Norseman on a roadtrip!

So... Today I decided that I'm gonna go on a semi-spontaneous road-trip tomorrow, until Wednesday afternoon.

My plan is to sleep in the car, so I won't have reliable access to shower.

Any kind souls along the way who'd be kind enough to lend me their shower at some stage? No expectations of course, just asking for shower.

I've planned my route somewhat, but it's all subject to change en-route:

Pfft... I'm a Norwegian. Besides, I've got two duvets and proper warm clothing from my time in the Norwegian Royal Navy, suitable to survive a Norwegian winter-night outdoors.

Cherry: Would love to, but doubt I'll have time to make it there. Car has to be back in Cork before 5.30 PM on Wednesday.

Leitrim: What else would a Norseman be doing on road-trip through Ireland?

Currently on Dingle peninsula now.

"Enjoy your road trip Norseman"

Thank you! Haven't had the time to meet any locals yet. On my way towards Tralee before I go towards Ballybunion and then Limerick.

Anyone along my route up for a coffee?

Reached Westport now, and considering to find a place to park for the night.

Definitely could need a shower by now.

Made it safely back to Cork.

I was already in love with Ireland, but now I'm even more! Not sure I'll ever set sail back to Norway now (except for vacation of course).

No I'm about jump into the shower. I'm feeling all nasty and icky. Very scruffy too.

Im thinking of doing something similar for a fishing trip over a longer period - I was also just looking up fishing trips in Norway - Like literally an hr ago - that's weird. Any recommendations??

I'm no good when it comes to fishing, but if you're gonna do a road-trip in Norway then west-cost is definitely the choice I'd say.

Since you're going fishing, I suppose you're planning on doing it during the summer-months, but you can certainly fish through the ice during the winter as well. If you're going during winter, then plan your camp-spots ahead of time as temperatures can get as low as -45 centigrades in some areas, with January usually being the coldest month.

Pay attention to weather-forecast as the weather can be quite treacherous, especially if you're going through mountain-areas.

If you wish to see the aurora borealis, then winter-months is the choice. Keep in mind that you'll only have about 5 hours sunlight a day in the south, and none at all up north. The aurora borealis happens all year round, but it's much easier to see during winter due to the lack of sunlight.

During summer it's the other way around: You can see sunlight 24/7. In the south, you won't see the sun at night, but it'll still be bright. While up north, the sun never sets. I have yet to see the midnight sun myself.
