Ahhh poor you.... but just to set the record straight that pain is nothing compared to labour pains. More on par with period cramps so count yourself lucky that it's a once off and you don't get hormonal

Your taking the piss!lol

Pal i feel your pain and its way worse than man flu.Nothing like renal pain. Many a mother has told me theres no comparison as renal pain when acute is intolerable. Now i know that childbirth is a doddle (wait for the backlash) and all that but you have ny sympathy.

See I'd disagree there..a kick in the balls for a man is far more painfull..say you go into labour and have a boy/girl in a year or 2 you might think itd be nice to do it again/labour pains..another child.

If you gave a guy a kick in the balls..he's not gonna start thinking..dya know what I'd like another kick

This is medically disproven - I was talking to a mother of 5 on friday who had kidney stones once and she said she said a prayer she would just die! Thats after 5 kids!

This thing with havin a baby pain is wayyyy over hyped. Gimme a baby anyday!

He wont be - He is getting them blasted by the sound of it - ultra sound waves - Painful - but bearable.

My stones are bigger than your fellas :P

My options were just explained - Another telescope up my manhood with a lazer attached to it - Or a hole bored through it with a drill starting from my back!

This went from a nice few days off work to bad very quick

Had to have emergency surgery a few yrs back with kidney stones. YES it is more painful than giving birth and labour. Wouldn't wish it on my ex....well I would but only bc he deserves it. Lol

Anyway speedy recovery. I'm sure they told you if you get them once you risk them in the future so try to stay away from too much calcium tea beer (god forbid !) And cheese. Also from time to time take a tablespoon of pure lemon juice. Helps clean the kidneys and also breaks up any tiny stones that may be developing.

I disagree, kidney stones and gallstone pain is one of the most severe, so my sympathies to the OP

As i said renal pain is excrutiating.Clinical fact.

Childbirth can be so severe and wouldnt wish to experience that pain for what its worth even though its physically impossible of course.

One thing i will say to you is try steer clear of any morphine based even synthetic morphine medication.I know plenty of people who ended up craving for them when they ran out.Quiet addictive.

Ive been getting loadsa morphine but hate it tbh - I dont have an allergy to it as such but its gives me a very not nice feeling for the first few minutes, like its grabbing onto my muscles, very wierd, but it's the only thing that works, no hope of me craving it tho thats a fact so i think im pretty safe

I understand.Have you tried alternatives? You would be suprised what might work.Simple difene can work sometimes.Dont laugh but paracetemol aswell as ibubrofen when taken together is very effective .On their own not much use but together great.Anyway if thats what they say you need then im sure they feel its correct.

Craving is just a polite word for addiction. You've been thru kidney stones before you said OP so just use the prescribed medication sparingly and you shouldn't have a problem. You wouldn't be on any morphine type med for longer than a week with your condition anyway so I wouldn't worry about it

I had the exact same thing done a couple of years ago. Getting the stent taken out is incredibly uncomfortable. You'll be grand though, back to normal in no time
