Giving birth is like trying to peel off the latex without the talc . Joking but taking the manflu serious

Hi Miss Carr, I have also had the dreaded head cold for the past fortnight, a guy told me last night to chop up an onion, put the onion into a pair of socks and then to put on the socks ,put on a hat and head for bed and it will have totally gone by the morning .I think I will stick with the cold.

Vicks is great for easing stuffiness and to ease breathing. If any of mine are feeling poorly, i make a pot of homemade chicken soup and give them vitamin C. Its a sure winner every time. Colds and flu viruses hate heat so keep warm and hydrated with warm drinks. Failing that, go to the chemist for some over the counter stuff or I threaten to donate their bodies to science.

I find the best thing to do is take the lemsip or similar at regular intervals putting some honey in it also. take some vitamin c too. As miss dirty girl says keep warm and drink lots of fluids. Time is also crucial, it take a few days to ride it out. get better soon and remember coughs and sneezes spread

Diseases. Also use the hand gel to prevent catching them I'm the first place

The onion trick does work. It soaks up any bacteria. I always keep an cut onion in my kitchen during the winter. Doesn't stop everything of course but I find my kids get fewer colds than the other kids in school oh and dont eat the onions

You rub the vicks on the soles of your feet and then put on clean socks when going to bed.

It sounds mad but it works..

Definitely the Vicks on feet, get it under toes, the ginger, lemon and honey all help and if you have a steam room local, that helps a lot. As I'm Irish, like most of ye, I try to add whiskey to most of these, or poitin if it's manflu. Hey! If you're close to death, a smile on your face makes it easier on those around you
