What's the craic with this. Every self respecting business with a bank account accepts visa debit. From the lad who mends lawnmowers to the butcher shop. All bar one group of businesses, the chippers. Why so?

Don't know what chipper you're going to but I haven't taken cash out at an atm for about 8 months. Most places have contactless now. My local chipper has it too

And as for a taxi, just pay with Hailo. Once yourcard details are on your Hailo account you can pay the driver by Hailo even if you didn't order the cab that way

you see that's the issue ...I'm down the country and starving I've 18 euro in bank till midnight . Atm only dishes out 20s and the chipper won't take visa debit in fact the two chippers in the town won't . Cash is king in the chipper business

as a small business i get charged every transaction i take with card.. but cash.. ohh its much less hassle...
