Make someone else happier for having crossed their path be it as simple as paying for the coffee of the person behind you in the queue but I believe everyone should do something like this every now and again just to remind ourselves that first and foremost we are all human beings. Great post op... please update us on what the outcome is

It doesn't have to do with money or paying for something for a complete stranger,that can insult someone as I found out to my detriment one day .

To give someone a helping hand is a lot more rewarding I think.

Not in a fabbers helping hand either lol

Loving this post. Random acts of kindness are amazing & can get such incredible reactions. Other times people can be suspicious, haha.

I remember reading about a guy who dressed up as Santa at Christmas & walked around a huge toy store in America just taking toys off the shelves & giving them as a "present from the store" to the parents/kids who believed him to be the store's Santa. Just brilliant.

Technically they aren't shop lifting consciously & I'm not sure if the Santa actually broke any laws, or am I wrong?

I would not myself mr give away but about 3 years ago i was in waterford doing some christmas shopping whem we went into a little cafa come restrant. While there i noticed an very old lady eating her food i also noticed that the staff all knew her and were very kind towards her. I finished my food and went to the till where i asked about the old lady. They spoke very higly of her but in a way that told me it was a great treat for this woman to eat there. I asked if she had paid for her food the girl so no. So i paid for meal the staff were delighted that i did and that the lady would be very thankfull for my kindness . They wanted to inform the old lady right away i asked them to wait till i had gone. I have to say i felt realy happy that day for my randam act of kindness.

Every 2nd week i visit this elderly lady, i met one time in supermacs, eating on her own,we got chatting. turned out she lived not far from my mom's house, which i care for, so as i got too know her throughout the visits, i did some shopping for her, i introduced her too my mom, and now they are best of friends,

I love random acts of kindness. I try so one everyday and it doesn't have to cost money - can be letting a car in when your traffic, giving someone directions, I bring in cakes to the lads in the warehouse the odd time, give wage slip advice to the girls in the coffee shop in the morning so they are claiming all their right credits lol

Being helpful, friendly and nice costs nothing and can shine a little bit of brightness in someone else's day

Just don't post it on the internet,these social media posts where people film themselves being good citizens are woeful, just do something nice , phone an old friend, call in with a neighbour, if your parents are still alive go round and make their dinner wee things that will make both parties happy

I agree it makes me cringe when someone films them selfs doing a good deed and posts it online. The whole point of it is helping another person without receiving praise for it, altruistic it's called.

I have given thing's to people that I know they need more than me. I have given my time. Last week at the check out at the local supermarket I had a lady give me a money off token as she had spotted it in my groceries and when I thanked her she said it's payback for the day it was raining that you helped me to the car with my shopping and baby while we don't do it for reward it is lovely to be acknowledged and boosted me on a low day. Society needs more of this... it's the foundation of community and what is getting lost worldwide. I also buy coffee for charity collector's as they are doinga great job in my eye's. Be a fab person in more ways than one

In my line of work I get to do random act's of kindness everyday, for men, women, and children, but what gives me the most fulfilling feeling is my last old stray cat.when I started in my job 17 year's ago there were ten stray cat's, one had six kitten's. I caught them all in cages, got them spayed, neutered and vaccinated and released them back except for the kittens which I tamed and rehomed.i now have one last female cat who is about 15 who waits outside my office every morning at six for her breakfast, we used to call her silent mary as she was the quietest cat, now she nearly talks to me, she has a little kennel I built at the back of my office.it is the most fulfilling thing to see her every morning waiting on her food.im a big animal lover as they dont have a choice or a voice to speak up for themselves.but my stray has a big booming voice every morning when she hears my car pulling in.i would be absolutely heartbroken if anything ever happened to her.

Being nice and courteous is the way to live ever day..things like opening doors helping with shopping,picking up things people dropped,acknowlging people who you come across doing their jobs on a daily basis saying hi and thank you,stopping your car to let other cars out or people cross the road when others have no intention on doing so,paying for goods or giving the person ahead of you the money their short for the items and lastly stopping for people who.s cars have broken down,cyclists pulled up and ask them if they need help, letting runners cross the road instead of pulling out and making them stop should.nt be random acts of kindness but second nature when I do or have someone else do all of these mentioned it has made my day brighter

I remember reading an article a few yrs ago by a reporter about this he went undercover as a homeless man himself on the streets of Dublin it was very interesting...

My random acts are very small. I let people pass me the queue if they only have a few things. Or let cars out. I'm the guy who sticks his tongue out at kids as I pass if they are being fussy (remarkable how many babies/kids stare at me slack jawed ... parents too). Small things that cost nothing but might make someone else's day a little easier

I think the random acts that you guys above do and have done are particularly wonderful. I'm not capable of doing them. But i try to make a little difference when I can

Yes..and so what if it seems weird? It can actually change someone day immensely and I wish more would do it. Pretty amazing too... i had my pump bill paid for me a few years ago and I was on a high for weeks about it....

I helped an old lady put her shopping in her car and helped her get in! Read this forum earlier n said to myself there's something I can do.

She was very grateful and I did feel all the better for doin it.

It's only a small thing but I know that old lady was thankful.

Best forum I have read on here!

Before leaving a cafe, pay for the next coffee someone orders. Add a small chocolate to that

Always give my parking ticket to someone..passed on a few all day ones from our local beach through the summer...personally i hate walking to get the ticket and then having to go back to the car with...I not that lazy really!!!
