There is a hotel right next to it...The Gibson but It's a bit out of the city centre, you might prefer staying central & getting a cab down.

Well you can't get any closer than the Gibson but I doubt if that's the cheapest. Just use one of the booking sites and use map view to gauge distance. Job done

The Gibson is really nice but can be pricey, there is a pub beside the Samuel Beckett bridge called the Ferry Man its got about 15 / 20 rooms. Very clean newly refurbished and great breakfast and very reasonable priced, I stayed there loads of times going to gigs and always late late drinks

You could try the Ashling hotel beside Heuston station and get the Luas straight down to the 3.

As far as I can remember the Luas resumed it's route down to the docklands.

I'm a rep in town and a lot of my customers are hotels. I was in the holiday inn on O'Connell street yesterday. I was taken back by how impressed I was by it. Only opened last week too. My opinion of holiday inn wouldn't have been good but this is clean and fresh.

The jury's on custom quay is quite reasonable and the Luas is a short walk away which will bring you right up to the 3 arena

Maldron on Pearse Street is an all-time favourite of mine.... For obvious Fabs reasons...

But it's also within a reasonable distance as us the Clayton near the Ferryman too.

The Gibson is actually not as pricey as you'd expect from its appearance. Literally directly across the street and the rooms are class. Worth a look on a price comparison site

If it's a big name your going to see you might have no option but pay through your nose for a hotel room as they hike the prices up

Dublin West

The Gibson has king size showers..

Perfect for 2..

Smithfield not good late at night so give that a miss.

Ferryman is worth a look but everywhere will be more expensive on that night.

Some air b&b available in the docks which would be close enough.
