So, i know some people will be too embarrassed to comment on this thread but i'm going to "raise" it (pardon the pun)... erections...

Have you ever found that getting or maintaining an erection has been difficult? Due to being an insulin dependpent diabetic for almost 40 years i am experiencing this problem and it is doing my tits in! Do i leave fab or stay? Am i less of a man than anyone else here? Would a female think i'm useless? etc etc i have tried viagra which i get free and they dont work, i have tried the pump, it doesn't work and i am at my fecking wits end! I'm not a freak or anything but i'd like the thoughts of the nicer people of fab forums to comment and any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you. I'm not embarrassed in any way hence why i posted the thread. I have spoken to my doctor and he is a useless ballbag so just looking advice from other users and the view of fwmales who have been in situations where partners have had the same problem

Ask your doc to send you to see a Urogolist, who can help you try other treatments. Diabetes damages blood vessels and nerve endings which are needed for maintaining an erection. Your hormones are still intact along with your sex drive but damage to the vessels carrying the blood to maintain your erection is most likely the cause of your problem. i hope this has helped you.

Can i ask you,do you suffer with pain,tingling or numbness in your hands,arms,legs and feet?

The urologist might recommend a vacuum mechanical device to increase blood flow to your penis.

Yes! You can bring your problems on a swinging site and any other site that has a forum. It's an open discussion platform and therefore any subject is legitimate. Sorry poster but I don't understand you questioning what the OP has posted. Its a valid question and something many here will/have experience of.

No, personally, I have not had this issue but I don't feel that should restrict me from commenting.

Just a thought OP, have you tried the cock and balls rings? They keep the blood in the penis longer, without harmful effects, so you stay hard, once you get hard. Have one in locker myself that I'm itching to try but just thought it may help you. Can't speak from experience but it's an option. Other than that, speak to GP/urologist, as other poster has mentioned.

I don't know about the medical elements of what you're describing but if I've ever had an issue where my own brain is messing with my and distracting me from focussing on doing what I love to do I find simply changing what I do and for example pleasing her orally I get into doing that and the temp issue I had is gone. I think you do need further medical advice on your issue however. Best of luck with it

..On a swing view im sorry it would leave me very frustrated if a guy cudnt maintain an erection and believe me there are more than a few men who swing who cant get an erection that are swinging

Op, some q's for you to ponder over. Does this issue occur when you masturbate or only when with a woman? Do you have morning wood when you wake up? That would help guide you if it's a physical issue or psychological one. If it's psychological, then pumps and pills probably won't work. Also, see you're a smoker, this can have a very negative effect on blood flow and can cause impotence. Do you do regular cardio exercise? Is there high levels of stress in your life at the moment?

Either way, even with diabetes, this is probably a relatively common issue with different solutions (though may require you to change parts of your lifestyle) and the best advice we can give is to visit a medical specialist who can work with you on this. Best of luck.

Most men, who admit it or not, have had this problem at some stage. A lot of it is to do with mind set and anxiety. Diet and stress are huge factors and prescribed medication can affect it too. It's a blood flow/pressure situation and plenty of sleep, good food, exersice and relaxation can help.

It has happened me in the company of ladies who I've been extremely attracted to and some have laughed but the good ones wont, they'll try to encourage you and not pressurise you or make you feel inadequate.

It'll come right for you but in the mean time just try not beat yourself up..!!!

My paramedic back ground has opened me to different types of treatments so don't rule out good old rest and relaxation and a belief that you'll get there.

As for the condition, go and see an urologist as others have said, but it could be just psychological.
