if a host advertises for a meet and the client need to get a taxi ,, should the host in anyway feel he should donate to the fare

No. We all supposed to be here because we want some fun and in accepting an offer of a meet you should be accepting everything, including how you going to get yourself there and back.

If the OP offered the meet with all expenses paid then it's another matter.
