And by this we mean that sometimes we receive a wink. We look at the profile and if we are curious/interested we wink back. Then that's it.

nothing. So why wink if your not prepared to follow up.

As a single bloke I don't get many winks from anybody let alone couples or ladies... so if the sender interests me I'll message back ..

my logic being ladies and couples get more winks than me and my wink is likely to be lost in amongst the others ...a message is more likely to be noticed.. I think the investment of a few minutes of my time is worthwhile.
