I guess it comes down to personal preferences. A good full body massage can be a great bit of foreplay if done in that manner as is tantric or there can be a well being/healing massage. Sports injury massage is for a different purpose altogether and needs to be done by a fully trained physio or further injury can be caused by aggravation of injury.

Sex on here can be hit and miss as with massage. There are professionals too if one prefers...

It's just the thought of an oily coating all over my body is not appealing as it goes everywhere and to parts that don't need to be oiled, they're working fine without.

Holistic massage use grape seed oil. Much thinner and less oily.

There is an element of truth in that yes. For many here they see tantric ad a prelude to fucking. In its origins it isn't base sexual.... It has a controlled high sexual mind over body aspect to it. I appreciate what you say and mean about it being in an intimate position with the other person....However it's less about intimate but more about trust and mindfulness. Complete strangers did tantric with each other because it is so much about the mind, detachment of the pure physical aspect of it and moving into another level of mental and spiritual. Its not just about the masseurs skills, it depends on what type of massage is done (indian head, tantric, hot stone, soft and deep tissue massages, healing energy massages etc) its also about the quality and type of oil used and its healing and relaxing properties.
